Ketzer Nearly Runs Out of Time

Niveau 10 : Blinds 2,000/4,000, 4,000 ante

Felipe Ketzer limped in from the small blind and Sam Grafton checked his option. The flop fell {j-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and both players checked to the {9-Hearts} on the turn.

Ketzer checked again and Grafton tossed in a bet of 12,500. Ketzer called and the {6-Hearts} double-paired the board on the river. Ketzer checked again and Grafton splashed in a bet of 60,000.

Ketzer went into the tank as he threw out his three remaining time bank cards. After using all three of them, Ketzer was down to just 30 seconds to make a decision. He eventually dropped in the chips to call and Grafton opened to {5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} to play the board. Ketzer tabled {q-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} for queen-high and was awarded the pot.

Orpaz Takes It on the Turn

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Tom Orpaz opened the action with a raise to 7,000 in the cutoff and Kayhan Mokri was the only caller on the button. That led the duo to the {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} flop on which Orpaz continued for 10,000 and Mokri called.

Following the {j-Clubs} turn, Orpaz upped his sizing to 50,000 and that got rid of Mokri.

Three Double Ups in a Row

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Chris Brewer
Chris Brewer

Ren Lin raised from under the gun and then called the shove by Simon Mattsson for the last 22,000 in the small blind.

Simon Mattsson: {a-Diamonds}{8-Spades}
Ren Lin: {k-Spades}{2-Spades}

The {9-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades} board locked up the double for Mattsson on the turn.

Shortly after one table over, the turn showed {a-Hearts}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and Chris Brewer bet 27,000 out of the big blind. Sam Greenwood called from under the gun and then also reluctantly called on the {j-Diamonds} river when Brewer bet 51,000 with a single T-500 chip behind.

Brewer tabled {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for two pair and that secured the pot.

Greenwood dropped to one third of a starting stack but doubled right away in the next hand when his {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} held up versus Tauan Naves. The Brazilian raised the button and called the short stack shove with {a-Spades}{3-Hearts}. There was no surprise on the {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{k-Clubs} runout and Greenwood remained in the mix.

Vieira Comes from Behind to Double Up

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

It only took a couple of preflop raises for Joao Vieira and Felipe Ketzer to get all of the money in preflop. Vieira was the player at risk for 95,000 and was facing a tall task.

Joao Vieira: {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Felipe Ketzer: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}

The flop came {j-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} and Vieira took the lead with a pair of jacks. The {4-Hearts} on the turn and the {3-Clubs} on the river changed nothing, giving Vieira a double-up.

Davies Cracks Auzoux's Aces

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Gregoire Auzoux opened to 6,000 from under the gun and Seth Davies just ripped all in from the small blind. Auzoux instantly called off his stack of around 100,000 and the cards were on their backs.

Gregoire Auzoux: {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}
Seth Davies: {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}

Auzoux was in a prime position to double up and there was no immediate danger on the {k-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Spades} flop. However, the {9-Spades} on the turn gave Davies a set of nines to take the lead. The {6-Diamonds} bricked the river and Auzoux was sent to the rail.

O'Dwyer Eliminated After Setup Hand

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Steve O'Dwyer
Steve O'Dwyer

In what seemed to be the very first hand after re-entering, Steve O'Dwyer raised and called a three-bet to 22,000 by Niklas Astedt which led them to a {8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop. Both players checked and O'Dwyer bet the {8-Diamonds} turn for 21,000, picking up a call by Astedt.

The {10-Clubs} river completed the board and O'Dwyer now checked to Astedt, who bet 100,000. This covered the 62,000 O'Dwyer had behind, who then invested three time bank extensions before calling all-in.

Astedt revealed {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} for aces up and O'Dwyer showed his {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} before heading out of the tournament area.

Short Stack Double for Heath

Niveau 9 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Ben Heath was all-in for just 13,000 from an early position and Chris Brewer called out of the big blind.

Ben Heath: {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}
Chris Brewer: {9-Spades}{8-Diamonds}

The {7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} runout was a close call but miss for Brewer, as Heath stuck around with a short stack.
