Lex Veldhuis Eliminated in 19th Place (€9,450)

Niveau 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Lex Veldhuis
Lex Veldhuis

Sunho Yoo limped in on the button and Pascal Heinrichs raised to 145,000 from the small blind. Lex Veldhuis stuck in his last 140,000 from the big blind and Yoo also called.

The flop fell {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} and both players checked to the {8-Spades} on the turn. Heinrichs led out with a bet of 205,000 on the turn and Yoo called to see the {k-Clubs} on the river.

Heinrichs fired out another bet of 200,000 and Yoo jammed all in. Heinrichs instantly called and both players turned over the same straight with {10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} and {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs} respectively. Veldhuis tabled {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and was eliminated in 19th place while the other two players chopped his bounty.

Marvin Ben Haim Eliminated in 20th Place (€9,450)

Niveau 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Marvin Ben Haim
Marvin Ben Haim

Marvin Ben Haim was down to just 490,000 chips and he pushed all in from under the gun. Jonathan Proudfoot asked for a count on the button and then re-shoved all in, forcing out the blinds.

Marvin Ben Haim: {8-Spades}{8-Hearts}
Jonathan Proudfoot: {10-Spades}{10-Diamonds}

The flop came {a-Spades}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts} and Proudfoot's tens were still in the lead. The {9-Spades} on the turn just missed Ben Haim and the {4-Diamonds} on the river spelled the end for his tournament.

Juho Suutari Eliminated in 21st Place (€8,250)

Niveau 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Juho Suutari
Juho Suutari

Juho Suutari opened to 200,000 from middle position, leaving 15,000 behind. Lex Veldhuis then jammed as the big stack on his direct left. The action folded to Sunho Yoo in the big blind. He went into the tank for around a minute before calling off his stack.

The dealer then incorrectly called showdown, forgetting that Suutari had some chips behind.

"I still have chips behind," said Suutari as Yoo and Veldhuis tabled their cards. In the end, Suutari called for his tournament life.

Juho Suutari: {q-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Sunho Yoo: {10-Clubs}{10-Hearts}
Lex Veldhuis: {5-Hearts}{5-Clubs}

Yoo made a set on the {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} flop to take the reigns on the hand. The {5-Diamonds} turn kept Veldhuis in contention, albeit he had a one-outer to quads. The {8-Diamonds} completed the board.

Suutari was eliminated while Yoo collected a double-up through Veldhuis to leave the PokerStars Ambassador as the short stack.

Stausholm Takes a Hit After Doubling Haraldstad

Niveau 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

The action folded to Martin Stausholm in the small blind who just limped in. Joachim Haraldstad raised to 140,000 in the big blind and Stausholm responded by shoving all in. Haraldstad peeked at the clock before calling off his 1,300,000 chips.

Joachim Haraldstad: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Martin Stausholm: {5-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}

Haraldstad was in a great position to double up with the superior pocket pair. The board ran out {j-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{a-Hearts} and Haraldstad took over the chip lead early on Day 3.

Aleksandar Tomovic

Aleksandar Tomovic committed his last 110,000 from the cutoff and was called by Gerard Cortes from the big blind.

Aleksandar Tomovic: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}
Gerard Cortes: {10-Diamonds}{9-Spades}

Tomovic was behind, and it stayed that way following the {k-Spades}{q-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop. The {j-Diamonds} turn gave Cortes the king-high straight to lock up the hand. The {q-Hearts} completed the board, and Tomovic became the first bust out of the day.

Veldhuis Rivers a Straight to Double

Niveau 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

The action folded to Aleksandar Tomovic on the button who shipped all in with two smaller stacks in the blinds. Lex Veldhuis pondered for a minute from the big blind and eventually called off his last 490,000 chips.

Lex Veldhuis: {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Aleksandar Tomovic: {a-Clubs}{10-Spades}

The flop came {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{6-Spades} to give both players a pair but Tomovic had the better of the two. However, the {q-Diamonds}, {j-Clubs} runout gave Veldhuis a straight and he doubled up, leaving Tomovic on fumes.

Heinrichs Takes One In; Ben Haim and Niederreiter Jam Preflop

Niveau 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Action was caught on the turn with around 250,000 in the middle on the {k-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} board.

Pascal Heinrichs bet 100,000 from the small blind. Aleksandar Tomovic called from the big blinid before Jan Bednar folded.

Heinrichs bet another 150,000 on the {9-Clubs} river, and after some tanking, Tomovic folded.

While that hand took place, Marvin Ben Haim and Fabian Niederreiter moved all in on separate tables, which got through the field.

Shing Doubles Through Bednar

Niveau 25 : Blinds 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante

Jan Bednar raised to 80,000 in the hijack and Philip Shing defended from the big blind. The flop came {k-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Shing check-called a bet of 75,000 from Bednar.

The turn brought the {8-Clubs} and Shing checked again. Bednar counted out a bet of 200,000 and Shing jammed all in for 260,000. Bednar called and tabled {a-}{k-} but was behind the {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} of Shing. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and Shing held on for a double up.

Stausholm Leads the Final 22 Players Returning for Day 3 of the €3,000 EPT Mystery Bounty

Martin Stausholm
Martin Stausholm

The action is starting to wind down at the 2023 PokerStars European Poker Tour Paris but there is still plenty of money up for grabs over the next couple of days. There will be just 22 players returning to their seats for the third and final day of the €3,000 EPT Mystery Bounty. The lion's share of the €1,328,456 prize pool is still available along with a €75,000 bounty still waiting to be drawn.

Leading the way into Day 3 is Martin Stausholm who will be returning to a stack of 2,440,000, good enough for over 60 big blinds. Stausholm will have his nose ahead of the rest of the field when it comes to plucking that all-exclusive top bounty prize out of the treasure chest. Gerard Cortes is the only other player with at least 50 big blinds as he will stack up 2,000,000 chips. Rounding out the top three stacks is Jan Bednar sitting with 1,965,000 chips.

Another name to keep an eye on is PokerStars ambassador and content creator Lex Veldhuis. Despite not winning a single bounty chip as of yet, Veldhuis has maneuvered his way through the tournament en route to a Day 3 finish. Veldhuis will be returning with a stack of 530,000 but has some work to do if he wishes to snag a bounty or ladder up the leaderboard.

The cards will be slated to go back in the air at 12 p.m. noon local time with the blinds resuming on level 25 at 20,000/40,000 and a 40,000 big blind ante. The levels will continue at 40 minutes in length until just three players remain where they will be cut in half. There is no dinner break scheduled for today but that could change based on the pace of play.

Some players have not redeemed any or all of their bounty chips as of yet but will have to do so before the tournament finishes. Here is a look at the remaining bounty prizes still available in the treasure chest:
