The PokerStars European Poker Tour at the Hilton Prague continued today with Day 2 of the €2,200 Eureka High Roller. A total of 1,478 players made up this field generating a prize pool of €2,837,760, leaving a grand total of €474,510 up for grabs for the first place prize.

Over a total of two starting flights yesterday, 221 players advanced to the felt on Day 2 this afternoon. After an additional 18 levels of play, just four remain as this two-day event goes to an unscheduled Day 3.

By the end of proceedings, it was Grzegorz Kozieja who bagged the overall chip lead, taking through a massive 21,800,000; over double his nearest competitor Safwane Bahri, who accumulated 10,050,000 as the dust settled.

With the post-bubble flurry of all-ins happening from the moment the clock started this afternoon, over half the field had been eliminated by the first break of the day. This seemingly set the pace for proceedings as the three-table redraw was reached promptly by level 26. The final 24 players had their antepenultimate reshuffle of the day, and the race to a final table began.

Final Table Action So Far

It was Michele Nizzardelli who was the first casualty of this final table when his pocket tens ran straight into the pocket aces of Bahri. Nizzardelli couldn’t combat the best hand in Hold’em and was sent to the rail in ninth place.

In just a matter of hands, Pablo Silva soon followed Nizzardelli to the payout cage when he got all the money in behind, holding king-queen against the ace-king of opponent Kozieja. There was no help for Silva and he made his exit.

It was another level and a half before Vasileios Chatzilazarou’s deep tournament run came to an end. Chatzilazarou met the same fate as Silva, as his king-jack fell to the ace-king of Kozieja, whittling down the final table to six.

Another hour passed before the next short stack, Sokratis Linaras, met their demise. Despite Linaras’ hot run earlier in the day, his queen-ten couldn’t pull in front of the ace-jack of Jason Wheeler, and he was sent to the rail.

Dan Larsen was the last elimination of the night, in fifth place, when his ace-queen lost to the king-jack of Bahri. The final four mutually agreed to stop play for the day and continue tomorrow.

The unscheduled day 3 will commence tomorrow with a start time of 1 pm and will play down to a winner.

The PokerNews live reporting team will return to bring you more coverage of the Eureka Poker Tour Main Event here at EPT Prague, so stay tuned.
