Sam Greenwood raised from under the gun and Paul Lagan flatted from the next seat across. Rehman Kassam then moved all in from middle position for 48,000. Greenwood called and so did Lagan.
The flop came 3♠9♠Q♥ and Greenwood checked. Lagan fired out a bet of 25,000 and Greenwood check-raised to 70,000, which Lagan called.
The turn was the 4♠ and Greenwood checked again. Lagan pushed all in and Greenwood snap called, quickly flipping over A♠2♠ for the nut flush. Lagan had 7♦7♠ and Kassam had J♠J♦.
The river came the 3♦. Greenwood scooped a huge pot to more than double his stack, taking a chunk from Lagan and sending Kassam to the rail.
Matthew Wantman was all-in for 130,000 from the button, being looked up by Nacho Barbero in the hijack and Boris Angelov in the cutoff, with Angelov covering Barbero as well.
Matthew Wantman: 8♠8♣
Nacho Barbero: K♥J♦
Boris Angelov: Q♠Q♥
Barbero flopped a pair on 3♣J♥9♣, but it was not enough as the A♠A♦ runout saw Angelov make the best two pair to scoop the big pot and receive two bounty tokens.
Before this hand, Yuan Li was sent to the rail as well.
Jules Dickerson shoved all in from middle position, covering the entire table.
"Are you serious?" Jesse Lonis asked in the seat next to him before calling off his stack of 250,000 chips. The rest of the table folded as the pair showed down.
Jesse Lonis: Q♦Q♣
Jules Dickerson: A♦2♠
Dickerson spiked an ace on the 3♣8♣A♥ flop to take the lead, besting Lonis' queens on the 7♠6♣ runout.
"So that's why they do that," Lonis laughingly remarked as he handed over his bounty and took his leave.
The payouts for the Mystery Bounty event have been announced. The total prize pool is €413,600 and the top 13 places are set to be paid at least a min-cash of €8,300. The first place prize is €110,400.
Mystery Bounty tokens come into play at the end of Level 13.
Thomas Fjellheim made a bet from the small blind on a flop of 10♥9♥10♣, after which Jean-Noel Thorel jammed in his stack of 69,000 chips from the hijack. Fjellheim immediately called as the cards were turned face-up.
Jean-Noel Thorel: Q♠J♣
Thomas Fjellheim: K♠K♥
Thorel needed an eight to stay alive, although the J♠ turn gave him some extra outs. The Q♦ river saw Fjellheim make a straight, however, raking in the pot and eliminating the French high roller from the tournament.
Sam Grafton open shoved from middle position with a short stack of 62,000. He was called by Sven Stok in late position, who had him covered as players turned their cards.
Sam Grafton: Q♥10♥
Sven Stok: 8♥8♠
The board ran out J♥9♣7♣4♦A♥. Stok held with his pocket eights to win the pot and send Grafton to an early Day 2 exit.
Sven Anderson, Max Deveson, and Nacho Barbero were three-way to a flop of 4♣Q♥J♣, which they all checked.
On the K♥ turn, the action checked to Barbero in the hijack again, and this time he made a bet of 15,000 into the pot of 36,000. Andersson called in the big blind before Deveson got out of the way under the gun.
The 9♥ fell on the river and saw Andersson bet out 50,000. Barbero did not need long before folding and granting the pot to his opponent.
On another table, David D'Alessandro was the first elimination of the day.
The second and final day of the €10,200 Mystery Bounty of the 2024 European Poker Tour (EPT) Barcelona will get underway at noon local time. Day 1 saw 76 entries being made at Casino Barcelona, of which 39 advanced to Day 2. However, late registration remains open until the start of play today, allowing new players a chance as well as those who still have their option for a single reentry.
Among the people who will not have to make use of those options is Elias Gutierrez. The Spanish player and content creator, who was a long-time online staple under the nickname "SinKarma", has been a familiar face at EPT stops for a couple of years and is on the hunt for his first live PokerStars trophy. With a stack of 317,000, Gutierrez will start the day in a comfortable fourth place on the leaderboard, sitting down with 63 big blinds.
The only players with more chips than Gutierrez are Jules Dickerson, who ended Day 1 with a big chip lead of 413,000, and the transatlantic pair of Fabiano Kovalski and Jesse Lonis, who are not too far away from Gutierrez with stacks of 329,000 and 320,000 respectively.

Other recognizable names in the top ten chip counts include Bulgaria's Boris Angelov (313,000), who recently achieved his first seven-figure score, high-rolling Canadian Sam Greenwood (303,000), and EPT regulars Sven Andersson from Sweden (274,000) and Marcelo Bonanata from Argentina (230,000).

As can be expected from a five-figure buy-in, the remaining field knows plenty of poker's elite, including Nacho Barbero (213,000), Teun Mulder (185,000), and Ren Lin (136,000). Hall of Famer Erik Seidel and recent Triple Crown winner Mike Watson are hovering around the starting stack with 104,000 and 90,000 chips respecitvely, while Santhosh Suvarna and PokerStars' Sam Grafton find themselves near the bottom of the leaderboard with stacks of 77,000 and 64,000.

All players who decide to enter at the start of Day 2 will receive 100,000 chips, starting in Level 11: 2,000/5,000 with a 5,000 big blind ante. The mystery bounties will enter play from Level 13 onwards, which gives new entries and other short stacks room to catch up to the bigger stacks.
All levels will be 30 minutes long, with a 20-minute break after Level 12 to allow the mystery bounties to be set up and 15-minute breaks after every four levels thereafter. The tournament concludes only when a winner has been crowned, while the prize pool and payouts will be confirmed shortly after the start of play.
Stay tuned as PokerNews will report all of the bounty hunting from the beautiful city of Barcelona, from the first deal to the very last. To not miss any of the other action, be sure to check in with the EPT Barcelona coverage hub for extensive coverage of other events.
