It’s certainly been a successful start to the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour Monte Carlo series, as evidence by a big field in the €1,100 France Poker Tour Main Event. Action continues today at Sporting Monte-Carlo with the opening flight of the €2,200 FPS High Roller.
This two-day event will see a pair of starting flights played today, with Day 1a kicking off at 11 a.m. local time. That will be followed by the turbo Day 1b tonight at 6 p.m. local time, where levels will be halved as players battle to reach the money and earn a spot in Day 2.
Last year in Monte Carlo, Yiannis Liperis took control of the final table and emerged victorious from a field of 1,234 entries. Liperis took home the largest share of the €2,369,280 prize pool, pocketing €406,670 for the win to along with the coveted PokerStars trophy.

The most recent €2,200 FPS High Roller took place two months ago in Paris, where Henrik Juncker denied PokerStars Ambassador Parker Talbot in a heads-up battle to claim his first EPT trophy.
Players will begin with 30,000 chips, with blinds of 100/200 and a 200 big blind ante. Late registration remains open until the end of Level 10, which marks the start of a scheduled 75-minute dinner break. The tournament features unlimited reentries, and play will continue until only 15% of the field remain to bag for Day 2.

The 10♥4♦7♠ flop was checked around. On the 2♦ turn, Ni bet 300 and Logachev called. Ni then led again on the 8♦ river for 600 and Logachev called as he "wanted to see" his opponents hand.
Ni tabled 7♥8♣ for two pair and Logachev tabled Q♠2♠ for bottom pair.

Action was heads up on the 7♦7♣A♠ flop, with Valentino Konakchiev checking in the small blind. Thomas Gubler slid out a 1,000 chip in the hijack and the call was made.
The dealer revealed the 6♥ turn, where Konakchiev check-called another bet of 2,500. The 5♣ river saw Konakchiev check one last time, and Gubler fired again for 6,500.
Konakchiev took a moment before making the fold, as Gubler raked in the pot.
