Today begins the 2024 PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT). Thousands have descended on Paris for a 12-day poker extravaganza.
After a successful kick-off last year, PokerStars has picked up some valuable lessons, ensuring an even better player experience this time around. The exciting news: the off-the-felt activities are making a comeback, promising a ton of fun beyond the poker tables. Here's what's in store for those making the trip to the French capital city.
Players are now on a 15-minute break.
Atanas Malinov bet 7,000 from the button on a flop of 5♦10♦Q♣ and Kazuhiko Yotsushika called in the small blind, as did Jamil Wakil in the cutoff.
The turn was the K♦ and action checked to Malinov again who this time bet 15,000. Yotsushika folded, but Wakil stuck around to see the 3♣ river.
Malinov then moved all in, having Wakil's last 74,500 covered, and Wakil tanked for a minute before calling. Malinov showed A♦9♣ for ace-high and Wakil turned over J♠9♠ for a straight to double up.
Santhosh Suvarna reentered and took his seat at this table, bringing today's field up to 52 entries and surpassing yesterday's total with still three levels of late registration remaining.

Elias Gutierrez raised to 5,000 on the button before Sergi Reixach moved all in for 19,500 in the small blind. Gutierrez let out a laugh and called.
Sergi Reixach: A♥9♥
Elias Gutierrez: 7♦4♦
"Fair fight," Reixach said as the flop came 9♦4♣10♦, giving Gutierrez a pair and a flush draw.
"Not such a fair fight," Reixach added before he spiked the A♠ on the turn to take the lead. The river was the Q♣ and Reixach doubled up.
"Congratulations," Gutierrez told him.
"I'm back," Reixach said as he collected the pot.
"Please let it be me," tablemate Kayhan Mokri said.
"Why do you want to bust him?" Gutierrez asked Mokri.
"I talk too much," Reixach said.
"Hopefully, I want to bust all of you before dinner," Mokri replied.
