2023 NAPT Las Vegas
Frank Lagodich opened in early position and Luis Yepez three-bet to 37,000 in middle position. Faraz Jaka then four-bet jammed a stack of around 70,000 in the small blind and Lagodich five-bet jammed a bigger stack. Jaka filmed the action as Yepez folded.
Faraz Jaka: A♦A♣
Frank Lagodich: A♥A♠
The five-bet pot had an anticlimactic ending as both players had aces and the runout of 5♦3♣7♦10♥8♣ left them chopping the pot.
"You fold kings or queens?" Dan Shak asked Yepez.
"Yes," Yepez replied. "Both."
Matthew Hunt opened to 6,000 from middle position, Selles Meijse three-bet to 16,000 in the cutoff, and Kartik Ved four-bet jammed for 35,000 in the small blind. Hunt folded and Meijse called.
Kartik Ved: 8♠8♥
Selles Meijse: 10♥10♦
The J♣7♥4♦ flop kept the tens ahead and Ved got up from his seat as the 5♥ turn gave him straight outs. The 6♥ hit the felt on the river and Ved made a straight to survive.
Jesse Yaginuma was all in for 71,000 on the button and at risk against Ralph Marquez in middle position.
Jesse Yaginuma: 10♥10♣
Ralph Marquez: A♣Q♥
The K♥8♥4♥ flop gave Marquez additional heart outs, and although the 9♦ turn changed nothing, the A♥ fell on the river and Yaginuma was eliminated.
Edward Pak was all in from the button against Joe Tehan in the hijack.
Edward Pak: J♣10♣
Joe Tehan: A♣J♠
Pak took the lead on the flop of 10♦9♠4♠, but the board finished out Q♣A♠ to give Tehan an ace on the river to mark Pak's elimination.
The short-stacked Pierce McKellar got his last 30,000 or so all in preflop and found himself in dire straits against Je Wook Oh.
Pierce McKellar: A♥Q♣
Je Wook Oh: A♦K♥
McKellar needed some help and got some when the Q♠8♦J♥ flop paired his queen. However, his lead was only temporary as the 10♣ spiked on the turn to give Oh a Broadway straight.
The A♠ river changed nothing and McKeller bowed out within the first 15 minutes of play on Day 2.
Valentyn Shabelnyk was all in from early position for around 45,000 against Leonardo Boen in the big blind, who had him covered.
Valentyn Shabelnyk: A♦Q♦
Leonardo Boen: 9♣9♦
Shabelnyk had no shot at staying alive as the flop landed K♥9♠9♥ to give Boen quads before the meaningless runout of 3♠3♦ confirmed Shabelnyk's elimination.
"That's the second time he's had quads," Jim Collopy told PokerNews. "In the first orbit."

Jonathan Dokler shoved all in for 25,500 under the gun and Rania Nasreddine called in the big blind.
Jonathan Dokler: A♠A♦
Rania Nasreddine: K♣4♣
The board ran out Q♦10♥6♥8♦2♥ and Dokler locked up the pot on the turn to secure the double.
Ryan Laplante open-jammed for 27,500 from the cutoff and action folded to Andrew Moreno in the big blind. He looked down at a big one and wasted little time in making the call.
Andrew Moreno: K♦K♣
Ryan Laplante: K♠3♠
Laplante was in need of some major help but failed to receive any as the board ran out a lackluster J♥6♣7♠7♦8♦.
Cards are in the air and action is underway in Day 2 of the NAPT Las Vegas Main Event.
