Action was heads up with a big pot that looked to be around 40,000 and a full board of 33985 when Tom Orpaz fired 15,000 and Sung Joo Hyun went into the tank. After a few moments of thought, Hyun tossed his hand in the muck to give Orpaz another pot in his first level of play.

On another table, Kyung Lee shoved from the big blind with more than Mark Ioli in the small blind. Ioli called for his last 19,700.

Orpaz Cracks Queens to Double Through Liu

Tom Orpaz was one of the latest players to join the field but wasted no time doubling up through Ping Liu to his immediate left.

Orpaz held 53 for a flush on the board of 87942 to put a beat on Liu with QQ.

Soverel checked on the flop of 2A8 and Hyun continued for 1,800. Soverel called. Soverel checked again on the 6 turn and Hyun checked back.

Soverel checked once more on the 7 river and Hyun bet 3,000. Soverel check-raised to 12,000 and was met with a snap-call from Hyun. Soverel quickly tossed his cards to the muck for Hyun to win the pot without showdown.

"Not even a charity tank," Soverel commented as Hyun told him he had pocket sevens. "I was drawing dead the whole way."

Orpaz Chips Up on First Hand

Tom Orpaz sat down for his first hand at the conclusion of the break and raised to 2,800 from late position before Ping Liu called from the next seat over. Sam Soverel tossed in chips from the big blind to see a flop and it was AQ8.

Soverel checked and Orpaz bet 3,500 to a quick call from Liu. Soverel folded and action was heads up.

Both remaining players checked the 10 turn and the 5 river before Orpaz turned over 99 and announced his flush. Liu tossed the losing hand in the muck and Orpaz took the pot.
