A long and gruelling first day has come to an end in the $25,500 MILLIONS Super High Roller at the 2017 Poker Party Festival. There will be six players returning on Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. local time with partypoker Global Ambassador, Sam Trickett, leading the pack.

Trickett can always be seen travelling the world playing the game he loves, and you can see just how much he loves the game with the smile on his face. Not to mention he's pretty good at the game too. Trickett has over $20.6 million in career live tournament earnings with half of that coming at The Big One for One Drop in 2012 where he came in second place for over $10.1 million.

The majority of Trickett's chips came near the end of the night when he found himself involved in a massive three-way all in for the chip lead. Trickett held {a-Spades}{k-Hearts} against Bryn Kenney's {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts} and Alex Foxen's {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Foxen flopped a set of jacks but Trickett turned the nut straight and held on to eliminate Kenney in eighth place.

Foxen was left with just seven big blinds and would push all in when he looked down at pocket nines. He was called by Trickett with ace-king again and once again, Trickett came out on top when he flopped a pair of kings. Foxen was eliminated on the bubble and that set up the final six players.

The day started off slow and was even delayed until at least 10 players were registered before tournament staff would allow the cards to get in the air. Once it got started, the action picked up and the players started to roll through the doors. By the end of the tenth level when registration closed, there were a total of 43 entries.

The $1 million guarantee was surpassed with the players battling for a prizepool of $1,042,750. The remaining six players are guaranteed to at least min-cash for $50,000 but will be in search of the $400,000 first-place prize.

These super high-roller tournaments bring out the world's best poker players and this tournament was no different. The likes of Fedor Holz, Jason Koon, Stephen Chidwick, Stefan Schillhabel, and Seth Davies all made their way to the Melia Caribe Tropical resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. Unfortunately for them, they were unable to find any luck at the tables at were ousted shortly after late registration closed. Some of partypoker's finest players joined them on the rail including Roberto Romanello, Joao Simao and Kristen Bicknell.

When the action resumes, the final six players will be sitting under the lights at the feature table and will be streamed live. The PokerNews coverage will continue in sync with live-stream on a 30-minute delay.

Alex Foxen
Alex Foxen

Alex Foxen shoved all in for around 1.4 million from under the gun and Sam Trickett called directly to his left. The rest of the table folded and the remaining two hands were tabled.

Sam Trickett: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Alex Foxen: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The flop came {k-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Foxen was in dire straits after Trickett paired his king. The {4-Clubs} on the turn changed nothing and with the {j-Diamonds} on the river, Foxen was eliminated on the money bubble.

The remaining six players will bag up their chips and return in the afternoon to play down to a winner.

Bryn Kenney shoved all in from under the gun for 2.81 million and Alex Foxen pushed all in over the top from the button. Sam Trickett was in the small blind and also announced all in for 3.24 million. The cards were face up and it was Foxen in the lead.

Sam Trickett: {a-Spades}{k-Hearts}
Alex Foxen: {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}
Bryn Kenney: {a-Clubs}{q-Hearts}

The flop came {q-Spades}{j-Hearts}{5-Hearts} and Foxen took a commanding lead in the hand with a set of jacks. However, the {10-Hearts} on the turn gave Trickett a straight with the largest flush draw. The {7-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing and Kenney was eliminated while Foxen was left with around seven big blinds.

Niveau 20 : 70,000/140,000, 140,000 ante

Sam Trickett opened to 300,000 from under the gun and Steffen Sontheimer called from the hijack. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Trickett checked. Sontheimer bet 300,000 and Trickett snap-called.
