Loeser Loses One; Wins Next Hand

Niveau 8 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Manig Loeser raised to 90,000 on the button and Johannes Becker called in the big blind. On the {K-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop, Becker checked and subsequently called a bet of 70,000 by Loeser. The {K-Clubs} turn and {J-Clubs} river were checked through and Becker showed the {J-Hearts}{8-Spades}. "That's a lot of pairs," Loeser joked and mucked.

Loeser didn't slow down and raised to 70,000 from the cutoff the next hand, which picked up one caller in Dominik Nitsche out of the big blind. On a flop of {Q-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Hearts}, Nitsche check-called a bet of 70,000 and did so again for 160,000 on the {6-Hearts} turn. The {Q-Spades} river brought the third check of Nitsche and Loeser's bet of 335,000 forced a fold.

Joao Simao added some more chips to his growing stack when he check-raised the turn of a board {K-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{8-Spades} out of the big blind. Bertrand Grospellier had bet 160,000 from under the gun and Simao's raise to 550,000 did the trick.

Gruissem Ends Sontheimer's Run

Niveau 8 : 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante

Philipp Gruissem raised to 70,000 on the button. Steffen Sontheimer threw in his whole stack worth 365,000 in total from the small blind. Stefan Schillhabel quickly folded on the Germans only table. Gruissem pondered for a bit and then called.

Philipp Gruissem: {a-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}
Steffen Sontheimer: {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{6-Spades}{10-Clubs}{7-Spades}{6-Diamonds} to give Gruissem the higher pair on the flop.

"Good game." Sontheimer said when he saw he was out of the tournament.

"See! I'm not afraid!" Gruissem replied with a grin. The rest of the table all laughed along, including Sontheimer.

Renato Nowak: {K-Diamonds}{6-Spades}
