Lucas Greenwood Continues to Crush

Niveau 11 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

After a raise and a call preflop, Ricky Guan and Lucas Greenwood faced off. The flop was {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{6-Hearts} and Guan checked over to Greenwood. Greenwood fired a bet of 3,000 and Guan called.

The turn was the {3-Spades} and Guan checked a second time. Greenwood thought for a bit this time before making a bet of 12,500. Guan thought a while himself, then eventually released his hand. Greenwood took down the pot and has continued to grow his stack over the course of the level, building to just over 250,000.

The action folded around to Adrian Mateos in the small blind who announced all in, having more than enough to cover Sebastien Vermette's ten big blind stack. Vermette looked down at his cards and made the call, and the hands were tabled.

Adrian Mateos: {j-Hearts}{8-Spades}
Sebastien Vermette: {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}

Vermette was slightly ahead with his king-high and remained in the lead after the flop bricked out. However, Mateos spiked a jack on the turn which proved to be enough to eliminate Vermette.

Under the gun, Carlos Garcia Sarmiento moved all in for 12,000. To his left, David Peters called, as did Gavin O'Rourke from the cutoff, Chris Huni from the small blind, and Mark Dietrich from the big blind creating a pot of over 60,000 heading to the flop.

The flop came down {J-Hearts}{7-Hearts}{9-Clubs} and action checked over to O'Rourke who bet 25,000. Everyone else folded so O'Rourke and Sarmiento turned up their hands.

O'Rourke: {A-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Sarmiento: {A-Spades}{10-Clubs}

O'Rourke was way ahead after the flop and that left Sarmiento drawing to running cards. The {2-Spades} on the turn would seal the deal and as it left Sarmiento drawing dead. The river was the {4-Diamonds} and that was it. O'Rourke took down the big pot and Sarmiento was sent to the rail.

Sharman Olshan is coming off a deep run in the $1,650 PCA National where she finished in 9th place. She is now looking to run up a stack here in the Main Event and she is off to a good start on Day 2.

Olshan opened to 3,500 from middle position and Jake Cody three-bet to 12,000 from the small blind. With the action back on Olshan, she quickly made the call and the flop came {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{j-Hearts}. Cody led out for 14,000 and Olshan wasted little time before calling.

The {5-Clubs} landed on the turn and both players checked to the {k-Clubs} on the river. With four cards to a straight on the board, Cody pushed forward another bet of 17,500. Olshan quickly announced all in, putting Cody at risk for his remaining 43,000 should he call. After thinking for a brief moment, Cody elected to muck his cards, sending a sizeable pot to Olshan.

Christian Harder in 2017

Christian Harder's bid for back-to-back Bahamas Main Event titles has come to an end.

As the film crew gathered around the table, three sets of cards were laid on their backs.

Christian Harder: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
David Laka: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Alexander Gambino: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

Gambino had the best of it and had both players covered. Harder the smaller of the two stacks at risk.

The board ran out {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{j-Clubs} and Gambino's pair of queens held up to eliminate both of his opponents and scoop a huge pot.
