Another Day, Another Super High Roller Gets Underway
Just as one super high roller event is wrapping up here at the PCA, another is set to begin with the $100,000 Single-Day Super High Roller. The action will be fast and furious but there will still be plenty of money up for grabs with all of the best players in the world.
The action is slated to begin at around 12:30 p.m. but like with all high rollers, there is likely to be a delay before the cards get in the air. Each player will begin with 100,000 chips, which equates to 100 big blinds for the first two levels. The blinds will start at 500/1,000 and a 1,000 big blind ante. They will be 30-minutes in length with a 15-minute break after every four levels and an 80-minute dinner break after level 12.
There is an unlimited number of entries permitted until the registration period closes at the beginning of level 9. That should allow for plenty of all-ins and many big pots in the early stages of the tournament. The shot clock will be in play from the start of the tournament with each decision being given 30 seconds. Each player will also be given six time bank cards of 30 seconds each for those tough decisions.
The PokerNews live reporting team will be on the tournament floor to bring you all of the action throughout the entire tournament.
Delay to Start
As expected, there is a delay before things get underway with only two players registered thus far. The tournament staff will wait until at least 8 players are ready to play.
Change of Schedule
Many of the high rollers are gathered at one table discussing the structure that they wish to play. As of now, the action will get underway shortly after 3 p.m. and the starting stack will be increased to 250,000. The levels will be reduced to 20 minutes and there will likely be no dinner break. The buy-in is now just $50,000 and only a single re-entry will be allowed.

Petrangelo Gets After It Early

Matthias Eibinger opened to 2,500 in the cutoff and Nick Petrangelo three-bet to 9,500 on the button. The blinds folded and Eibinger called to see a flop of 
. Both players checked and the

Eibinger led out for 6,500 this time and Petrangelo just called. The 
paired the board on the river and Eibinger fired another 11,500. Petrangelo used a time extension before raising to 40,000. Eibinger also used a time extension and eventually made the call. Petrangelo tabled 
and Eibinger sent his cards to the muck.
Timothy Adams is the latest entry to the field, bringing the total to 13 players thus far.
