Paul Leckey: {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}
Tianle Wang: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}

Kassela Gets Shorter

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

Frank Kassela gave up a pot against Ajay Chabra and was then spotted thinking about the hand for several minutes, staring away from the table.

One table over, Griffin Benger and Marius Gierse were involved in a battle of the blinds. The former bet the river of {Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts} for 75,000, Gierse reluctantly folded.

Players Reach Their First Break

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

The players have finally reached the first break of the day. There are still 182 players remaining and the money bubble will continue with hand-for-hand when the new level of 6,000/12,000 and a 12,000 big blind ante resumes.

Greenwood and Couden Play into Break

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Sam Greenwood bet 25,000 from the big blind on {k-Clubs}{j-Spades}{10-Spades}{a-Diamonds} and Joey Couden called on the button. As the other players all went on break, Greenwood tanked awhile on the {4-Diamonds} river before sliding in 106,000, most of his remaining chips. Couden thought about a minute and mucked.

More for Hajiyev; Benelli Calls Correctly

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

In the last two hands of the level, Ramin Hajiyev increased his stack and Kristen Bicknell was caught bluffing over on the secondary feature table.

Hajiyev raised to 22,000 and Murilo Souza Figueredo tank-folded with a very pained facial expression. He smashed the cards so hard that the {K-Diamonds} was exposed and many players at the table guessed after the hand that he had folded pocket kings. Luigi Knoppers called in the big blind, then check-folded a {Q-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop. By then, Souza Figueredo was out of his chair and blew off the tilt about his fold.

Last but not least, Andrea Benelli defended his big blind against a Bicknell open and was spotted check-calling a bet of 48,000 on the {6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{8-Spades} turn. On the {A-Spades} river, Benelli checked with around 190,000 behind and Bicknell bet 110,000 in the cutoff. Benelli tanked and the clock was called on him, the Italian called and Bicknell showed {K-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Benelli claimed the pot with {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs}.

Kurov Doubles Through Dattani

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Michel Dattani bet 100,000 into about 130,000 from the big blind on {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, and Andrei Kurov shoved all in from the button for 233,000. Dattani thought a little while and flicked in a chip. After a few minutes while action finished on the other tables, the tournament director told Dattani to reveal his hand.

Dattani showed {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} for kings up but Kurov had {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} for quads.

Farid Jattin

A bigger pot was brewing and once again Farid Jattin and Jonathan West clashed. The latter check-called a bet of 118,000 on the {A-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds} turn with 121,000 behind and the {K-Hearts} river paired the board. West checked and Jattin checked behind, then mucked when West flashed {K-Spades}{J-Clubs} for trips kings.

One table over, Jacqueline Burkhart defended her big blind against a raise by Alex Keating and they checked the {K-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds} flop. On the {Q-Hearts} turn, Burkhart check-raised from 25,000 to 80,000 and Keating eventually folded.

Perrault Takes From Tatu

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

On a flop of {J-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}, Vlad Tatu bet 26,000 and was called by Marc Perrault to see the {8-Diamonds} turn. Both players checked and Tatu then bet the {7-Clubs} river for 56,000.

"Do you have a good hand?" Perrault asked while studying his opponent. Eventually, the Canadian called and Tatu rolled over {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}. Perrault claimed the pot with {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for top pair, sending Platinum Pass winner Tatu below 20 big blinds.
