Le plus gros tournoi à 25000$ de l'histoire ne concerne plus que 8 concurrents. Julien Martini est en bonne position pour se glisser dans le club des millionnaires puisque les six derniers survivants du PokerStars Players Championship encaisseront un gain à 7 chiffres et que le Français est en 3e position du classement provisoire. Le vainqueur WSOP est concentré sur l'objectif et veut y croire sans se mettre de pression financière : "Dans mon esprit c'est juste un tournoi à gagner. Je n'arrive pas à réaliser que je vais jouer demain pour 5 millions. Cela ne me fait pas peur même si ça change la vie. C'est un objectif de gagner autant d'argent mais l'important c'est de prendre les bonnes décisions", a indiqué le tricolore quelques minutes après la fin du Jour 4 du PSPC.
Le Français sera probablement plus à l'aise que les deux derniers qualifiés via Platinum Pass, Marc Rivera et l'Espagnol Ramon Colillas. Scott Baumstein avait commencé la journée en tête alors qu'ils étaient encore 38 en lice, tous assurés d'un gain de 86 500$. Les finalistes remporteront au moins 509 000$ et Florian Duta est le dernier éliminé aux portes de la finale (9e). Le Roumain a subi un 3-outer par le chipleader qui l'a fait tombé à 4 blindes et il n'a jamais vraiment réussit à s'en remettre.
Les qualifiés Platinum Pass Jacqueline Burkhart, Atanas Pavlov, Filipe Oliveira, Adrian Echave, Joao Barbosa et Michael Roboniek ont sauté lors de ce Jour 4 pour une jolie culbute et un superbe parcours. Après un flip et un 70-30 PERDU, Mikita Badziakouski a lui rapidement plié bagage lors de cette avant dernière journée de compétition. Tony Gregg a fait un passage encore plus court. Les têtes d'affiche Griffin Benger et Kristen Bicknell (11e) ont aussi raté la finale, la Canadienne aux deux bracelets WSOP a tout de même profité de ce tournoi pour établir son plus gros gain en carrière.

After just staving off elimination in a chopped pot, Florian Duta got his 2,000,000 chips in the middle again with
