Weis Puts Pressure on Jouhkimainen

Niveau 21 : Blinds 10,000/15,000, 0 ante
Oliver Weis
Oliver Weis

Oliver Weis opened the action to 30,000 from the hijack and only Joni Jouhkimainen made the call in the big blind.

The flop came {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {k-Clubs} turn. Jouhkimainen checked again and Weis tossed out 25,000, which Jouhkimainen called.

The {8-Hearts} completed the board and Jouhkimainen checked a third time. Weis took some time before cutting out a bet of 115,000 and Jouhkimainen went deep in the tank. After close to a minute of thought, Jouhkimainen let his hand go and the sizable pot was sent to Weis, who is now closing in on the chip lead.

Poker Player Busts from WSOP Circuit King's Main Event in a Chop Pot; No One Caught It!

Niveau 20 : Blinds 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Hand

You can chalk this one up in the "never seen that before" poker category. Pierre Kauert busted in sixth place in the WSOP Circuit Main Event at King's Casino on...get this...a heads-up chop pot.

Yes, that's right, he became the first player ever, at least on a live stream, to be eliminated from a tournament in a hand he didn't actually lose. No one, not even the announcers, caught the mistake, and by the time it was discovered the pot should have been chopped, it was too late.

"It does fall under player and dealer responsibility and cannot really do anything about it at this point. If it wasn’t live streamed it would never have been realized and so we just move on," World Poker Tour's Executive Tour Director Matt Savage, who was not associated with the event, explained to PokerNews when asked how he would have proceeded.

See how the hand went down here!

In a four-way limped pot preflop on a board showing {q-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, Jeremy Ausmus checked from the small blind to Andriy Lyubovetskiy who led out for 12,000 in the big blind. John Zable from early position, Oliver Weis in the cutoff and Ausmus all made the call.

The turn came the {k-Clubs} and Ausmus elected to take the betting lead with a sizing of 50,000. The three opponents quickly got out of the way and the sizeable pot was sent to the Day 1 chip leader.
