Talbot Gets Kicked to the Rail

Niveau 18 : Blinds 2,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Parker Talbot
Parker Talbot

Pedro Garagnani opened to 10,500 in early position and Parker Talbot three-bet shoved all in for 86,000 in the cutoff. The action folded back to Garagnani who quickly called to put Talbot at risk.

Parker Talbot: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}
Pedro Garagnani: {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}

Talbot was looking at three outs and the flop of {7-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{2-Clubs} provided no immediate help. The {3-Diamonds} on the turn and the {2-Spades} on the river meant Talbot was eliminated and Garagnani collected the bounty.

PN Pod Mori Eskandani
PN Pod Mori Eskandani

In the latest PokerNews Podcast episode of 2023, Chad Holloway and Connor Richards handle things while Jesse Fullen is in Australia. They discuss Mike Postle’s sudden reappearance in the poker world after making a final table at the Million Dollar Heater at Beau Rivage in Mississippi, while also talking about the slowroll and needle that accompanied his bust out.

They try to balance that story with a heart-warming one where Johnnie “Johnnie Vibes” Moreno put a bartender into the MSPT Sycuan Main Event, with the recreational player going on to finish in fourth place for $40,000!

Other stories discussed include WSOP.com Player of the Years, Lon McEachern and Daniel Lowery winning WSOP Circuit gold rings, and early winners from the PokerGO Cup.

Speaking of which, PokerGO’s Mori Eskandani joins the show as this week’s guest. The Poker Hall of Famer talks 2023 World Series of Poker (WSOP) preparations, who came close to challenging Jason Koon on High Stakes Duel III (HSD), plus when we can expect the next HSD match to take place. He also discussed new developments to this year’s PokerGO Tour (PGT) and shared memories from the days when the Mirage was the hot spot for poker in Vegas.

"How do you have a pair?" asked Talbot as the hands were revealed. The flop of {a-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades} delivered a higher pair to the PokerStars Ambassador, with the {9-Hearts} turn and {a-Spades} river cementing his double up.

Stewart Calls with No Diamond

Niveau 16 : Blinds 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante

Justin Steinbrenner raised to 6,500 from under the gun and was called by Chance Kornuth and Joshua Stewart in the blinds. The flop fell {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades} and Stewart led out with a bet of 8,500. Steinbrenner called and Kornuth stepped aside.

The turn was the {7-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {q-Diamonds} on the river. Stewart checked once more and Steinbrenner dropped in a bet of 30,000. Stewart mulled it over before making the call and Steinbrenner sent his cards to the muck. After begging to see his hand, Stewart finally showed the {j-Spades}{j-Hearts} as he was awarded the pot.
