Chidwick Busts Vrakas

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Georgios Vrakas shoved all in against three opponents from the big blind with the board reading {a-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}. Stephen Chidwick called for 54,100 on his left, and everyone else mucked, though Bill Perkins said he had an ace.

Chidwick: {a-Spades}{q-Spades}
Vrakas: {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}

Chidwick's ace was better though, and he held against the flush draw when a {3-Spades} bricked the river.

Greenwood Flushes Anderson Out on the River

Niveau 11 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante
Calvin Anderson
Calvin Anderson

On a board reading {k-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, with about 20,000 in the pot, Calvin Anderson checked from early position. Action was on Luc Greenwood in middle position and he bet 20,000.

Anderson thought about it and began breaking his stack down to see how much he had. After a moment, Anderson called.

The river was the {8-Spades}. Anderson checked, and Greenwood went into the tank. After about a minute, Greenwood slid a tall stack of T5,000 chips forward and Anderson quickly checked back to confirm his cards before calling off his remaining 45,000 chips.

Greenwood tabled {a-Spades}{10-Spades} for the ace-high flush and Anderson frustratingly flung his cards into the muck. The {6-Diamonds} was flashed, and the dealer turned over his other card, revealing the {8-Diamonds}. Anderson had turned the nut straight but Greenwood backed into a flush. Anderson hit the rail early after registering at the start of play today.

Watson Doubles in Battle of Canadians

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

In a hand at the previous level, Sam Greenwood check-called 16,000 in a battle of the blinds with the board reading {q-Clubs}{a-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{6-Hearts}. He then checked the {4-Spades} river and Mike Watson put about 50,000 in, leaving himself just over 1,000 back. Greenwood called, and Watson showed the {q-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for the big blind special two pair and took the pot.

Last year's PCA Main Event champ had a short run trying to repeat here, but he trying to take the first $25,000 High Roller of the PokerStars Championship Bahamas instead.

Dario Sammartino

Dario Sammartino put his remaining 20,000 stack in the middle and was called by Shyam Srinivasan.

Srinivasan: {a-Clubs}{8-Clubs}
Sammartino: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

Sammartino was well ahead and thought he only had to fade one of the three eights in the deck. To his disappointment, Srinivasan backed into a flush when the board ran out {10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and he hit the rail early on Day 2.

Christoph Vogelsang Jams the River

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Upon passing by one of the middle tables in the High Roller, Christoph Vogelsang and Daniel Dvoress, seated side-by-side, were sitting with straight backs, arms crossed and staring at one another in deep thought.

The board read {q-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Spades}{j-Spades}, with about 28,300 in the pot, and Vogelsang led out for 8,000 from the cutoff. Dvoress was on the button and went into the tank for at least a full minute, eventually deciding to call.

The river was the {q-Hearts}. Vogelsang was the one in the tank now and after a couple of minutes, he stacked up his chips and piled them all in the middle. Dvoress now faced a bet of 45,300 and went deep into the tank. After about three minutes, Dvoress tossed in a single chip, indicating a call.

Vogelsang confidently tabled {6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a full house, sixes full of queens. Dvoress showed {k-Hearts}{j-Spades} for two pair, queens and jacks and sent them into the muck.
