Alors qu'il reste trois journées de compétition, le Jour 3 du Main Event du PokerStars Championship Macau a vu le contingent tricolore passer de 7 à 2 joueurs. Il n'y a plus que deux Français en lice sur le tournoi principal, Thibaud Blondel et Fabrice Soulier. Qualifié sur PokerStars, et avec 870 000 jetons, Blondel est 5e du classement alors qu'il ne reste que 37 participants. Fabsoul est lui dans le peloton avec 272 000 jetons.
Le Chinois Xuan Tan mène la danse avec 1,3 million de jetons. Sa compatriote Yan Li est l'unique autre joueur avec un tapis à 7 chiffres. David Peters (875,000), l'Ukrainien Artem Metalidi (765,000), Daniel Laidlaw (441 000) ont aussi terminé le Jour 3 avec un gros stack. Chipleader à l'entame de la journée, le Thaïlandais Pakinai Lisawad a vu son tapis fondre de moitié mais il est toujours dans la course pour le premier prix de 3,1 millions de dollars de Hong Kong (environ 402 000 US$)

Ils étaient 536 au départ du tournoi et encore 151 à revenir pour le Jour 3. Quelques heures plus tard, 103 joueurs entraient dans l'argent après l'élimination de Xiao Luo à la place de bubble-boy par Daniel McAulay.
Les Français Ivan Deyra (45e pour 13000$), Bernard Vu (75e pour 8044$), Michel Abécassis (100e pour 8044$) et Maxime Adam (103e pour 8044$) ont sauté après l'arrivée dans les places payées au contraire d'Alexandre Moreau, seule victime tricolore du Jour 3 non payée.
Parmi les victimes du jour qui sont entrées dans l'argent, on notera Manig Loeser (87e pour un min-cash à 8044$), l'Australien Michael Egan (91e), le Danois Morten Mortensen (82e) ou encore l'Espagnol Sergio Aido (48e pour 10 207$) et la Suédoise Sofia Lovgren (44e pour 13 000$).

The second player to cross the million-chip mark is Yan Li. Li started the day among the leaders but slipped down the counts early on. She is back now and taking charge.
Li opened to 25,000 and got a call from the player in the big blind. The two players checked down a board of and Li claimed the pot with , besting .
Aymon Hata opened to 18,000 from under-the-gun and Xuan Tan called from the big blind. The two big stacks saw a laid out in front of them and both players checked to get a free card on the turn, the .
Tan check-raised a bet of 13,000 from Hata to 55,000. Hata called. The landed on the river and Tan led out with a bet of [65,000]. After counting out a call, Hata thought for a moment before sliding it forward.
Tan showed for a rivered flush, after turning trip kings, and Hata mucked.
With a board of , David Peters fired out a bet of 73,000 on the button and Ro Woong Park check-called from the small blind.
The completed the board on the river and Park checked once more. This time Peters used both hands to slide each of his stacks of yellow 5,000 chips, totaling 200,000. Park would end up folding and Peters climbed to almost 600,000.
Aymon Hata and Kahle Burns went to the flop for the minimum after Hata limped the small blind and Burns checked from the big. The dealer swiped across the table.
Hata checked to Burns who bet 11,500. Hata called and the turn was the . Hata checked again and Burns bet again, making it 33,500 this time. Hata made the call.
The river was the and Hata pushed all in. Burns snap-called and then mucked when he saw Hata turn over for a flush.
We approached the table as the field was heading on break to see a bet of 89,000 sitting in front of Fabrice Soulier.
Action was on Soulier's heads-up opponent, Zinan Xu. Xu looked down at a board and roughly 200,000 already in the pot.
After a few moments, Soulier asked for the clock, and once the floor staff arrived, they decided to give Xu and an extra moment as the pot was monstrous. A minute went by and the floor staff began a 60-second countdown.
About half way through, Xu gathered up a call and slapped it down. Soulier tabled for a busted flush draw and Xu turned over , a pair of twos.
Which was good and warranted several wows and praises from spectators who paused to catch the action.
Two tables remained in the latest hand during hand-for-hand play, as one player found a fold on an outer table, all eyes shifted to Table 1 where Xiao Luo had called a jam from Daniel McAulay on the turn, putting himself at risk.
The hand started out with Luo opening to 9,000, McAulay three-betting to 28,000, and Luo making the call. The flop came and Luo check-called a bet of 25,000 from McAulay.
The fell on the turn. Luo checked and McAulay shoved all-in. Luo made the call.
The two had to wait several minutes before revealing their holdings but, finally, their hands were tabled.

Luo wasn't in bad shape, needing any king, queen, or spade to stay alive. The crowd gathered around and a collective cheer rang out as the appeared on the river.
With the hand, McAulay is now the overall chip leader in the room.
The remaining 103 players are now in the money, guaranteed at least HK$62,500.
Just 151 hopefuls will return at noon local time on Thursday for Day 3 of the PokerStars Championship Macau Main Event. With the bubble looming only 48 eliminations away, 103 of the remaining players can expect to leave with some consolation today.
The final tally on the first ever PSC Macau closed with a total of 536 entries, creating a prize pool of $20,796,800 HKD. Sitting on top is a first-place prize of $3,130,000 HKD and of course the coveted PokerStars Championship trophy. Anyone making the money today will walk away with at least $62,500 HKD.
Leading the charge this afternoon is Pakinai Lisawad from Thailand. Lisawad will wield a stack of 301,200, chased closely by France’s Ivan Deyra (278,700) and Chuanshu Chen (272,700) of Hong Kong.
A number of notables are still in the hunt including Fabrice Soulier (243,000), Winfred Yu, (210,200), Sergio Aido (197,200), Dong Guo (176,600), Sofia Lovgren (132,900), Bryan Huang (121,300), and Day 1b chip leader Joachim Bold (107,700).
