Rough Start for Mjeldheim

Niveau 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

The stack of Thomas Mjeldheim has been cut into half in the first level and the opponents to benefit the most from it were Raman Afanasenka and Pascal Hartmann.

On a three-way flop of {J-Clubs}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Hartmann checked out of the big blind and Mjeldheim bet 525 from under the gun. Afanasenka folded on the button and Hartmann came along for the ride. The German checked again the {Q-Hearts} turn and called a bet of 800 before check-calling another 1,000 on the {3-Diamonds} river.

Mjeldheim rolled over {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds} for a pair of jacks briefly, but the cards soon landed in the muck when Hartmann showed {K-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} as the winning hand.

Niveau 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

We found [Removed:551] in the big blind facing a bet of 5,550 on a board of {3-Spades}{4-Spades}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}. The chips were in the pot courtesy of John Mooney, and [Removed:552] paid off the bet after some thought. Mooney turned over {a-Spades}{q-Spades} for the nut flush and took the pot down.

Peukert Doubles With a Suited Ace

Niveau 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Down to his last 2,725, Stefan Peukert three-bet all in out of the small blind and he was quickly called by initial raiser Vladimir Troyanovskiy in early position.

Stefan Peukert: {A-Spades}{5-Spades}
Vladimir Troyanovskiy: {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}

The {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop improved Peukert, and the {Q-Spades} turn and {2-Diamonds} river changed nothing anymore to let the German double. Despite the small setback, Troyanovskiy has started well into Day 1a and is among the early chip leaders.

Linard Takes a Big Pot

Niveau 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Two players were in a preflop raising war, with Louis Linard putting in 4,100 on the button and then calling another raise to 8,800 from a player in middle position. That player checked the {5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{4-Spades} flop and then tank-folded to a bet of 4,700 from Linard.

Mjeldheim an Early Out

From early position, Thomas Mjeldheim pushed all in for 13,400, a slight overbet into a pot of about 11,000. Saar Wilf stretched and sighed at the {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{6-Spades}{a-Hearts} board.

"This is not a good card for me," he mused.

Mjeldheim smiled, but he wasn't smiling a few minutes later when Wilf slid some calling chips in. That's because Mjeldheim had {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs} for a missed draw. Wilf showed {10-Spades}{8-Hearts} for tens up and Mjeldheim took his leave.

Jakubcik Rivers Larquemin

Niveau 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

On the three-way flop of {Q-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}, Marco Molon checked out of the big blind and Christophe Larquemin bet 1,175 from early position, which was called by Ondrej Jakubcik on the button and Molon. After the {Q-Clubs} turn, Molon checked once more and Larquemin bet 3,000, which this time only Jakubcik called.

The {8-Clubs} on the river completed the board and the Frenchman bet 5,000. "How much do you have behind?" Jakubcik asked and Larquemin showed his stack to see Jakubcik call. Larquemin rolled over {A-Clubs}{Q-Hearts} for trips queens, while Jakubcik had that beat with {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for a full house. "That's dirty," Larquemin said in French. "Make sure to write that down, dirty."

According to the Czech bloggers, Jakubcik won his seat to the Main Event in the satellite last night despite being down to half an ante on the bubble.
