En début de journée, Timothy Adams, Maxi Lehmanski, Joao Simao n'ont pas réussi à se repositionner tandis que Jimmy Guerrero était lui de tous les coups et parvenait à avancer. Igor Kurganov s'est ensuite fracassé sur Julian Stuer avec les {q-}{q-} contre les {k-}{k-}

John Juanda Eliminated in 2nd Place (€683,900)

Niveau 26 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante
John Juanda
John Juanda

After several small pots, John Juanda was down to 1,300,000 and raised to 125,000. Julian Stuer then moved all in and Juanda called. The German rail jumped closer to the table to see the action unfold and the cards were turned over.

John Juanda: {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}
Julian Stuer: {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds}

"Pictures please," the German rail demanded and Juanda said "no pictures please," referring to picture cards that would help Stuer. However, Juanda's request would run out blank as the board came {K-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} to improve Stuer to kings and sevens. Juanda was eliminated in 2nd place for €683,900, while the German and Austrian rail including Main Event runner-up Andreas Klatt started celebrating and ordering beers.

A recap of today's action will be available shortly.

Thomas Muehloecker Eliminated in 3rd Place (€471,400)

Niveau 25 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Thomas Muehloecker
Thomas Muehloecker

After a few hands without any showdown, Thomas Muehloecker had built his stack to around 1,200,000 while Julian Stuer kept either raising or open-shoving into both short stacks. Then, Stuer raised to 100,000 and Muehloecker three-bet shoved out of the small blind for 24 big blinds. John Juanda folded and Stuer called.

Julian Stuer: {8-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Thomas Muchloecker: {J-Spades}{9-Spades}

The flop of {7-Clubs}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} failed to improve Muehloecker, and he was in need of an eight after the {6-Diamonds} turn, as Stuer had improved to a straight. Instead, it was the blank {7-Diamonds} and Muehloecker was eliminated in 3rd place for €471,400. Juanda has at least €683,900 guaranteed and has to overcome a more than 6-1 lead of Stuer to claim the title.

Dario Sammartino Eliminated in 4th Place (€384,340)

Niveau 24 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Dario Sammartino
Dario Sammartino

Julian Stuer tried to bully John Juanda off a pot on the board {6-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{5-Spades} and Juanda check-called the bet of 225,000 on the river after both previous streets were checked. Juanda called and Stuer mucked.

Then, Stuer raised to 80,000 and Dario Sammartino three-bet to 260,000 in the small blind. Juanda folded the big blind and Stuer moved all in, Sammartino snap-called for 1,300,000.

Dario Sammartino: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}
Julian Stuer: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The {Q-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts} flop changed nothing much, and Sammartino all but locked up the hand with the {A-Hearts} on the turn. However, there was that danger of a flush draw and Sammartino was not celebrating yet, as if he knew what lady luck was up to. Sure enough, the {2-Hearts} on the river gave Stuer a flush and Sammartino a brutal exit in 4th place for €384,340. Stuer increased his lead even further, and all three remaining players have €471,400 guaranteed.

Javier Gomez Zapatero Eliminated in 5th Place (€306,500)

Niveau 23 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Javier Gomez Zapatero
Javier Gomez Zapatero

Just after sending Charlie Carrel to the rail, Julian Stuer raised to 90,000 out of the small blind and Javier Gomez Zapatero called in the big blind. The flop fell {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and Stuer continued for 75,000, which the Spaniard called.

After the {7-Hearts} turn, the second barrel was worth 220,000 and again Gomez Zapatero called with some 650,000 behind. The {9-Hearts} river completed the board and Stuer finished his triple-barrel story by moving all in. Gomez Zapatero gave it brief consideration and tossed in a chip for the call, and Stuer rolled over {J-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a jack-high straight.

Gomez Zapatero mucked the cards, but as per all in showdown rule, his {A-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for flopped trips eights were revealed. Gomez Zapatero receives €306,500 while the next spot is already worth €384,340.

Charlie Carrel raised to 75,000 on the button, Julian Stuer three-bet to 250,000 from the big blind, Carrel four-bet shoved 1,125,000 and Stuer snap-called.

Charlie Carrel: {Q-Spades}{7-Spades}
Julian Stuer: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

"Ahh," exclaimed Carrel, who let out a chuckle. The vibrant Brit was looking for a miracle and spiked one of the cards he needed on the {Q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Spades} flop. Carrel needed more than that though, but the dealer failed to deliver on the {8-Clubs} turn and {8-Spades} river.

Carrel received €235,450 for his sixth place finish, while Stuer almost has half of all the chips in play.

After several hands without any flop in the last level, the new level kicked off with a bang. Dario Sammartino raised to 65,000 first to act and Ekrem Sangiolu called out of the small blind. On the {Q-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop, Sanioglu quickly checked and Sammartino continued for 50,000. Sanioglu looked up from his massage and said two words only: "All in." Sammartino called as quickly and the cards were turned over.

Dario Sammartino: {K-Hearts}{10-Clubs}
Ekrem Sanioglu: {Q-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}

"Come on," Sanioglu said in French and asked for diamonds or to pair his jack and queen. However, the {9-Hearts} turn and {3-Spades} river were both blanks and Sanioglu was sent to the rail in 7th place for €171,300. All remaining six players have €235,400 guaranteed and the pay jumps are getting bigger and bigger.

Thomas Muehloecker limped the small blind and Dario Sammartino raised to 80,000, which prompted a fold from Muehloecker.

Exactly one hand later, Muehloecker raised to 55,000 on the button and short stack Julian Thomas defended his big blind. On a flop of {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}, Thomas checked and Muehloecker continued for 36,000. Thomas moved all in for around 240,000 and received a quick call.

Julian Thomas: {8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Thomas Muehloecker: {A-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}

Despite flopping the flush, Thomas was drawing dead as soon as the {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn, making the {10-Clubs} river a formality. Thomas received €124,150 for his efforts and the next payout step is worth €171,300.

Jimmy Guerrero limped in from the small blind and Charlie Carrel simply moved all in from the big blind to force a fold.

One hand later, Thomas Muehloecker raised to 60,000 from late position and Guerrero three-bet to 165,000 on the button with around 470,000 behind. The action folded back to Muehloecker, who waved his hand to see the remaining stack of the Frenchman. Muehloecker then announced all in and Guerrero quickly checked his stack again before calling it off.

Thomas Muehloecker: {A-Clubs}{A-Spades}
Jimmy Guerrero: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {K-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Hearts}{9-Hearts} and Guerrero failed to get there, joining the rail in 9th place for a payday of €102,620. All remaining eight finalists have €124,150 locked up for their efforts and Muehloecker jumped into second place overall behind Julian Stuer.
