Isaac Haxton Eliminated - Hand-for-Hand on the Bubble

Niveau 18 : 25,000/50,000, 5,000 ante
Isaac Haxton
Isaac Haxton

It wasn't Isaac Haxton's day today, he lost some hands where he was the favorite going in, and his last hand wasn't any different.

Adrian Mateos shoved from the cutoff to put maximum pressure on all the players behind him. The button and small blind folded, Haxton didn't hesitate and called from the big blind for 700,000 or so.

Isaac Haxton: {10-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Adrian Mateos: {A-Spades}{7-Spades}

The board came {Q-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{A-Clubs} and with the ace on the river, Haxton's tournament was finished.

Just seconds before his bust, Haxton had told the players in the tournament that he won the Single-Day High Roller in Prague wearing the same t-shirt that he was wearing now.

"That's what I get for that speech," Haxton said with a wry smile.

With that, the remaining 10 players are on the money bubble and Mike Watson was moved over to table one and the bubble procedure was explained. Hand for hand is now being enforced, and if two players on the same table bust, the stack will decide over the bubble boy. If two players bust at the same time on different tables, the min cash of €90,100 will be split.

Kisacikoglu Busts to Mateos

Niveau 17 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Orpen Kisacikoglu
Orpen Kisacikoglu

Nick Petrangelo was mentioning a strategy to shove three times and as such double the stack without any showdown, causing plenty of laughter on the table. "Adrian does that without knowing," Isaac Haxton said, referring to Adrian Mateos. And it was the Spaniard who was involved in an all in showdown just now.

Orpen Kisacikoglu shoved for his last 255,000 from the cutoff and Mateos eventually called out of the big blind.

Orpen Kisacikoglu: {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}
Adrian Mateos: {10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The {Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop left Kisacikoglu in bad shape, and the {2-Clubs} turn and {6-Diamonds} river failed to provide a miracle to send Kisacikoglu to the rail.

Fedor Holz opened under the gun for 95,000 and Rainer Kempe shoved for 525,000 from middle position. Big blind Daniel Dvoress shoved for 1.5 million and Holz folded after running down his clock to just a few seconds.

Daniel Dvoress: {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}
Rainer Kempe: {6-Clubs}{6-Hearts}

The board ran out {9-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{8-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Kempe hit the rail.

Dan Smith

Dan Smith shoved under the gun for 465,000. His neighbor, Isaac Haxton, reshoved and the other players got out of the way.

Isaac Haxton: {K-Diamonds}{K-Hearts}
Dan Smith: {J-Spades}{J-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{Q-Clubs} and Smith said his goodbyes.

Not much later, Haxton (big blind) got it in against Mateos (cutoff) for 510,000 each.

Adrian Mateos: {A-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}
Isaac Haxton: {K-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{8-Spades} so Haxton lost back what he had just won.

Aidyn Auyezkanov

Aidyn Auyezkanov open-shoved for his last 115,000 and Dan Smith reraised all in for 166,000 out of the small blind. Jean-Noel Thorel was in the big blind and eventually called to put two players at risk.

Dan Smith: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Aidyn Auyezkanov: {A-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Jean-Noel Thorel: {A-Spades}{4-Hearts}

After a board of {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Clubs}, the third-place finisher of this very event in 2016 was eliminated and Thorel was left short after paying off Smith.

David Peters Doubles Calling With Ace-High

Niveau 14 : 10,000/20,000, 3,000 ante
David Peters
David Peters

Fedor Holz opened the hijack for 46,000 and big blind David Peters called.

Peters check-called 38,000 on the {2-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{2-Hearts} flop and 91,000 on the {3-Clubs} turn before checking a third time on the {9-Spades} river. Holz bet 325,000 and Peters went deep into the tank. His 30-second clock ran down and he was forced to use a time bank chip to gain another half minute of time to think.

With only a couple seconds left to act, he announced a call.

Holz showed {6-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for nothing but a missed turned flush draw. Peters tabled {A-Hearts}{J-Spades} and counted out his 324,000-stack to receive it back times two.

Daniel Negreanu Eliminated

Niveau 13 : 8,000/16,000, 2,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Jean-Noel Thorel raised to 35,000 and Byron Kaverman defended the small blind to see a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}. Kaverman checked, Thorel bet 55,000 and folded to a check-raise worth 140,000 by Kaverman.

One hand later, Kaverman raised to 36,000 on the button and Daniel Negreanu moved all in out of the big blind. Kaverman snap-called and Negreanu joked "Oh, I asked if you were all in" with a smile on the face.

Byron Kaverman: {Q-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}
Daniel Negreanu: {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}

The board ran out {J-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{J-Spades}{5-Spades} and Negreanu was eliminated. "Where can I rebuy now?" Negreanu joked to the floor and, when he was told that it wasn't possible anymore, he continued "oh, I would have never played ace five diamonds then," before leaving the tournament area. Kaverman moved to almost one million in chips as a result.

Seat Open for Loeser, Adams and Sammartino

Niveau 12 : 6,000/12,000, 2,000 ante
Fedor Holz
Fedor Holz

The last four minutes of the level brought three all ins on two different tables and all three players at risk would be sent to the rail.

Hand 1

Fedor Holz raised from the cutoff and Manig Loeser moved all in from the small blind for around 225,000. Holz called and the cards were turned over.

Manig Loeser: {Q-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}
Fedor Holz: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

The flop of {A-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{2-Spades} improved Holz to a pair of aces, and neither the {2-Clubs} turn nor the {10-Hearts} river saw Loeser regain the lead.

Hand 2

Timothy Adams raised to 24,000 and David Peters three-bet to 75,000 before Adams four-bet all in for around 250,000. Peters called and immediately rolled over his cards for the showdown.

David Peters: {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}
Timothy Adams: {A-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

The board came {10-Spades}{10-Clubs}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Adams was eliminated.

Hand 3

Last but not least, Daniel Negreanu open-shoved from the small blind and into the big blind of short stack Dario Sammartino. The Italian called and had found a pocket pair.

Dario Sammartino: {5-Clubs}{5-Spades}
Daniel Negreanu: {10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

A cruel run out of {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} saw Negreanu hit the better straight and Sammartino was the last casualty before the dinner break.

A big Double for Greenwood

Niveau 10 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Sam Greenwood and Charlie Carrel
Sam Greenwood and Charlie Carrel

Hand 1

Mark Teltscher open-shoved for his last 114,000 and Charlie Carrel called all in for 96,000 from one seat over in the cutoff. All opponents folded and the cards were tabled.

Charlie Carrel: {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}
Mark Teltscher: {A-Spades}{K-Spades}

Despite picking up an additional flush draw, Teltscher saw his stack reduced to just over two big blinds on a board of {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}.

Hand 2

The next hand, Sam Greenwood raised to 17,000 from under the gun and Teltscher called all in for that very amount. Dan Smith in the small blind and Adrian Mateos in the big blind called also and the flop came {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}. Smith checked, Mateos bet 22,000 and Greenwood called. Smith then check-raised to 76,000 and Mateos quickly folded, while Greenwood called.

After the {A-Hearts} turn, Smith checked and Greenwood bet only 30,000. Smith moved all in and was snap-called by Greenwood, who was covered by Smith.

Mark Teltscher: {J-Clubs}{9-Clubs}
Sam Greenwood: {A-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}
Dan Smith: {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}

The {8-Clubs} on the river gave Teltscher a meaningless straight and Greenwood doubled through Smith for 166,000.
