Bertrand Grospellier Eliminated in 12th Place (€33,600)

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Bertrand Grospellier
Bertrand Grospellier

Maxim Panyak opened for 60,000 first to act. Bertrand Grospellier shoved all in from the cutoff. It looked like about 425,000, and Panyak called to put "ElkY" at risk.

Grospellier: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Panyak: {a-Spades}{j-Spades}

The flop brought {q-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{5-Clubs}, no help to Panyak. The {k-Diamonds} turn gave him some additional outs. Grospellier stared intently at the board as if to will a blank out of the deck, but a {j-Hearts} arrived to pair Panyak and doom ElkY. The PokerStars Team Pro dropped his head and cursed silently, then took his leave.

Papazian Makes a Big Call

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Alexandru Papazian opened for 60,000 under the gun plus one and big blind Moritz Dietrich called. Dietrich check-called 45,000 on {2-Spades}{2-Hearts}{J-Spades} before leading for 60,000 on the {A-Diamonds} turn. Papazian called and saw his opponent bet 200,000 on the {A-Spades} river.

Papazian tanked for some time before Grospellier asked for the clock. When the floor was half way with the minute for Papazian, the Romanian grinder called.

Dietrich tabled {8-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for much of nothing, Papazian took it down with {4-Diamonds}{4-Spades}.

Dmytro Shuvanov Eliminated in 13th Place (€33,600)

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Dmytro Shuvanov
Dmytro Shuvanov

Maxim Panyak opened to 60,000 in the cutoff and reluctantly called the shove of Dmytro Shuvanov, who had 305,000 in the small blind.

Panyak: {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}
Shuvanov: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Panyak was right to be less than thrilled, as he was dominated. However, the situation flipped on the {6-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{q-Spades} flop. The {5-Hearts} turn didn't help him, and he put his head down in disappointment. The river: {2-Spades}, and Shuvanov headed for payouts.

Suck and Resuck!

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Andrey Bondar opened the button for 75,000 and small blind Dmytro Shuvanov three-bet to 200,000. The big blind folded, Bondar shoved all in for 1,260,000. Shuvanov called.

Andrey Bondar: {A-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}
Dmytro Shuvanov: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

The {Q-Clubs}{3-Spades}{6-Hearts} hit the flop and Shuvanov literally held his breath. The {7-Hearts} on the turn was a blank but the {K-Diamonds} on the river sure wasn't. The card hit and a shockwave went through the tournament room. Figuratively because the onlookers weren't seeing it coming, literally because Bondar slammed the table in excitement while celebrating in Russian.

Papazian's Roll Slowed by Shuvanov

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Alex Papazian has been playing the role of table bully at the outer table, opening more than his share of pots and generally running the action. The player who has showed the most resistance is Dmytro Shuvanov, and he recently three-bet Papazian's 60,000 cutoff open to 175,000. Papazian came back with 375,000, and Shuvanov responded with an all-in shove for around 1 million. Papazian quickly mucked.

"Ah ha!" Shuvanov said with a smile.

Ace-King High Call for Dietrich

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Moritz Dietrich opened the hijack for 70,000 and big blind Michael Kolkowicz called. The {2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} flop was checked by both and the {2-Spades} hit the turn. Kolkowicz checked, Dietrich bet 40,000 into 190,000 and Kolkowicz check raised to 105,000. Dietrich called and called the 235,000 river bet on the {4-Hearts} that completed the board as well.

Kolkowicz showed {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds} and that hand ended up in the muck as Dietrich tabled {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}.

Sergio Aido Eliminated in 14th Place (€33,600)

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante
Sergio Aido
Sergio Aido

Maxim Panyak opened under the gun for 65,000. Sergio Aido, himself in the cutoff, shoved for 585,000. Grospellier on the button tanked for a bit but folded. Both blinds released their cards as well. Panyak called.

Sergio Aido: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}
Maxim Panyak: {A-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}

Aido walked over to the High Roller to get his friend Adrian Mateos to sweat the hand with him.

The {K-Hearts}{5-Spades}{7-Spades} flop was still safe for Aido. The {10-Diamonds} gained Panyak some outs so Aido wasn't too relaxed just yet.

The river {A-Hearts} did Sergio in and he exited in 14th place. He still has time to enter the €25,750 High Roller event, registration remains open for another level.

Dietrich Doubles Through Klatt

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Andreas Klatt raised under the gun, and Moritz Dietrich shoved from the big blind. Klatt called for 305,000 total.

Klatt: {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Dietrich: {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}

The {9-Hearts}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds} flop was safe enough for Dietrich. The {6-Diamonds} and {8-Clubs} were as well, and he doubled up.

Nardin Fires Big

Niveau 24 : 15,000/30,000, 5,000 ante

Michael Kolkowicz completed the blind, and Romain Nardin made it 105,000. Kolkowicz called. He then check-called 85,000 on the {5-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Spades} flop. On the {3-Hearts} turn, Kolkowicz came out firing with 135,000. Nardin went nowhere. The river was an {8-Clubs} and brought a check from the first Frenchman. Nardin bet big: 525,000. After a couple of minutes of thought that included cutting out calling chips, Kolkowicz slid the dealer his cards.
