Leow Busts Badziakouski

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Mikita Badziakouski
Mikita Badziakouski

Mikita Badziakouski was one of the shorter stacks after losing that big hand against Windfred Yu earlier and has recently become the latest casualty.

It was Ivan Leow the man driving the action, making it 5,500 to go from the cutoff, and Badziakouski moved all-in from the small blind for 37,900 in total. Loew thought it over and announced the call.

Mikita Badziakouski: {a-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}
Ivan Leow: {4-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}

"Fair enough," said Badziakouski as he saw what he was up against, but lost the flip almost immediately when the flop came down {7-Spades}{4-Spades}{5-Diamonds} to give Leow bottom set. The {k-Hearts} turn left the Belarusian player drawing dead and the {j-Clubs} river saw Badziakouski depart to bring the field down to 17 and shoot Leow's stack up to 130,000.

"In Short Deck It's Okay"

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Paul Phua was all in and at risk and joked "in short deck it's okay," while he tabled the {8-Spades}{7-Spades}. He was called by Manig Loeser with the {A-Spades}{K-Diamonds} and the board came {K-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Hearts}{7-Hearts}. Phua got there on the river to double and table neighbor Dominik Nitsche joked "we Germans know the seven is always coming."

Soon after, Richard Yong was also all in and at risk, holding the {A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, and Steve O'Dwyer had him dominated with the {A-Spades}{Q-Clubs}. The board of {Q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} gave Yong trips sevens and the double up for 27,600.

Phua Shoves on Christner, Leong Folds Out Yu

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Christian Christner opened the action from middle position with a raise to 5,200 only to see Paul Phua move all-in from the small blind for 69,600 in total. Steve O'Dwyer, sitting in the big blind, looked interested but eventually gave it up and action was back on Christner.

The German player thought it over but eventually, let it go. The pair clashed again, the next orbit. This time is was Phua who was the aggressor, making it 5,500 from the cutoff, with Christner defending his big blind.

There was no betting on the {4-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{k-Hearts} flop or the {10-Spades} turn so Christner decided to take a stab for 13,200 on the {5-Diamonds} river, which was enough to get Phua to give it up.

Over on the other non-feature table we caught the tail end of a big pot that played out between Winfred Yu and Chan Wai Leong. The community cards were spread 3cth4djskd] with over 60,000 already in the pot and Yu was facing a Leong bet of 40,200. Yu chewed over the decision but elected to wait for a better spot and let it go.

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Over on the feature table, Koray Aldemir moved all-in for a little over 16 big blinds (38,900) with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and was looked up by Steffen Sonheimer with {6-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}.

The flop came down {j-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Diamonds} with the {3-Hearts} turn leaving Aldemir teetering on the brink of elimination before the appearance of the {a-Hearts} river to see him double to 81,000 while Sontheimer dropped to 51,000.

Yu Doubles Through Leong

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

On the heads up turn of {10-Hearts}{8-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{Q-Diamonds}, Chan Wai Leong pushed all in from the cutoff and Winfred Yu snap-called from one seat over on the button.

Leong turned over the {9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} for a straight and flush draw, while Yu had that dominated with {K-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} for a pair and higher flush draw. The {Q-Clubs} on the river was a blank and Yu doubled for more than 85,000.

Sontheimer Busts to Haxton

Niveau 12 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante
Steffen Sontheimer
Steffen Sontheimer

Over on the feature Not long after losing that flip to Koray Aldemir and Steffen Sontheimer found himself all-in for his tournament life against Isaac Haxton. It was Cheong Cheok Leng who opened the action with a raise to 5,000 from the cutoff with {2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}.

Sontheimer moved all-in for 50,300 from the small blind with {k-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and was looked up by big blind Haxton who re-shoved for 169,500 with {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Leng bowed out.

The flop was not good for Sontheimer, coming down {2-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} but the {q-Hearts} turn saw him briefly take the lead in the hand. Unfortunately for the German, his hopes of a double were dashed on the {8-Hearts} river, which gave Haxton the nut flush and the pot, while Sontheimer hit the rail.

Yu Busts Leow and Fast in Massive Three-Way Showdown

Niveau 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante
Winfred Yu
Winfred Yu

Dietrich Fast raised it up first to act and was called by Ivan Leow from one seat over and Winfred Yu out of the big blind. The flop fell {J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Yu checked to Fast, who checked as well. Leow bet 9,000 and Yu check-raised to 25,000. Fast came along for the ride with a stack of around 125,000 and Leow then pushed all in for more than 93,000.

Yu moved all in over the top with the biggest stack of the trio, and Fast called to create a massive three-way showdown.

Ivan Leow: {A-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Dietrich Fast: {J-Clubs}{J-Spades}
Winfred Yu: {Q-Spades}{9-Hearts}

The camera crews rushed by to film the action, and the {K-Hearts} turn and {7-Hearts} river were both blanks to send Yu into a commanding chip lead.

O'Dwyer Flips Well Against Loeser

Niveau 13 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

On the button, Steve O'Dwyer made it 6,500 to go and Manig Loeser carefully cut out a three-bet before making it 25,000 to go from the small blind. Once the action was back on O'Dwyer, he moved all in and Loeser called it off for a big portion of his own stack.

Steve O'Dwyer: {9-Hearts}{9-Clubs}
Manig Loeser: {K-Clubs}{Q-Spades}

The board of {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} let O'Dwyer double for 82,100 and Loeser dropped down to a mere five big blinds.
