The UK and Ireland Poker Tour 2023 Season Finale continues today with Day 1b of the Main Event running at Dusk Till Dawn Poker and Casino in Nottingham. The flight kicks off at 12 p.m. local time.
Players in the Main Event will start the tournament with a stack of 30,000 chips. Blind levels will run for 40 minutes and start at 100/100 with a 100 big blind ante.
This is technically the third starting flight and the second of five being held in Nottingham. The Hippodrome Casino in London held a remote flight which resulted in 23 entries. Darren Lalli topped the field, bagging 324,500 chips.
Nottingham's Day 1a flight attracted a further 76 entries and 11 made it through. Saleem Khan managed to finish the flight as the overall chip leader with 344,500. He is the man to beat for players in Day 1b.
There are five local starting flights and players can take a maximum of three entries per flight, with late registration open until the start of Level 11. All starting flights will play down to 15 percent of the field and those who make it through will return for Day 2 already in the money.
Reigning UKIPT Edinburgh champion Fintan Hand is back in action and will be joined by UKIPT Brighton winner Benjamin Spragg, as well as PokerStars ambassadors Georgina James and Lasse Jagd Lauritsen, all looking to make their mark in the biggest UKIPT event of the year.
The Season Finale Main Event comes with a £1,000,000 guarantee. By Monday night, someone will have taken the lion's share of that prize pool.
Off the felt activities include Go Karting on Friday, bowling on Saturday, and a quiz in the bar on Saturday. The top three contenders in each activity will be able to take part in a free SNG with the winner earning a $1,100 Player’s Choice Main Event seat. The Players Party will run on Sunday at Dusk Till Dawn.
The UKIPT 2023 Player of the Year Leaderboard will also wrap up this weekend. David Docherty, who has already been seen playing in Nottingham this week, has locked up the top prize of a UKIPT 2024 Package worth £15,000 for the winner. The runner up prize of live event tickets worth £2,200, and the third prize worth £1,100 are still up for grabs.
PokerNews will be bringing you live updates of Day 1b straight from the tournament floor and following the event all the way down to a winner.
