Or Can't Improve in Israelian Battle

Niveau 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Israelian poker player Amitai Or limped from the hijack and so did his left-hand neighbor Guy Ohayon, also an Israelian poker player. The player in the big blind checked his option and they went to the flop.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and the big blind checked to Or who lead out with a bet of 1,000. Ohayon called and the player in the big blind threw his hand to the muck.

The turn was the {7-Clubs} and Or bet another 1,000. He got called again by Ohayon and when the {9-Clubs} river card came down both players checked.

Or opened up {A-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for a pair of fours and a missed flush draw and Ohayon could beat that with {A-Clubs}{6-Clubs}.

Unibet Poker Esports Update

Scott McMillan
Scott McMillan

So far Phil Schonebaum and Jordy Janssens are the only players who played in the Esports Battle Royale earlier this week and have busted out of the Main Event today. Sophia White played yesterday and she wasn't able to make Day 2 either.

Schonebaum lost the remainder of his stack with jacks against aces and was sent to the rail. Thijs Molendijk also lost a pot already and is down to 22,000 after he lost with two pair while holding ace-king against three-of-a-kind queens.

The hottest running man of the week, Scott McMillan, has the biggest stack of all the esports players and is looking to continue his hot run and win a third tournament this Unibet Open.

Simpson, Lovgren, Grigore and De Jong Eliminated

Niveau 4 : 200/400, 50 ante
Ian Simpson
Ian Simpson

Sofia Lovgren popped up in the field, but she wasn't able to survive that long. She busted out of the tournament and her only chance to make it through to Day 2 is the reentry possibility on Day 1c.

Dex de Jong, Marcel Grigore, and Unibet Ambassador Ian Simpson are in the exact same situation as they also have busted out of the tournament.

Simpson lost the last of his stack with ace-king. He three-bet preflop to 2,500 from the big blind and two players called. The flop came down {K-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds} and Simpson continued with a bet of 3,500. He lost one opponent but had to shake off another when the {J-Diamonds} turn came down. Simpson check-raised all-in after his opponent bet 8,000. Simpson's all-in was for about 18,000. Simpson's opponent called holding {K-}{J-} and the river wasn't good for Simpson.

Di Cesare Makes Iordache Fold a Flush

Niveau 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

The under the gun player raised to 650 and Alessio di Cesare called from one seat over. Andrei Iordache called from the button and big blind Bogdan Petra Petrascu joined from the button.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and it checked to Iordache on the button. He took over the lead with a bet of 925 and both Petrascu and Di Cesare called.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and all players checked.

The {7-Hearts} river completed the board and after Petrascu checked it was Di Cesare who took over the lead for the first time in the hand by betting 4,250. Petrascu took his time to think out his seemingly tough decision but ended up announcing fold. Iordache folded quickly and Petrascu was still able to flip over his cards, showing he folded {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}.

He also won the Tag Team event here in Bucharest alongside Rauno "Estonian Jesus" Tahvonen, who's also in the Main Event.

Thijs Molendijk and Nathan Schmitt also played in the Esports Battle Royale earlier this week and were also spotted in the Main Event already. Schmitt is at the featured table which is streamed and can be watched under the "Live Stream" tab at the top of the page.

Few River Cards

Niveau 3 : 150/300, 25 ante

There haven't been dealt a lot of river cards today in the tournament room in the JW Marriott Bucharest Grand Hotel. Most of the players are taking it easy with their 30,000 as the starting stack is still worth 100 big blinds in the current level.

Florian Udila, Jonathan Mermelstein, and Mate Mecs all took down pots either on the flop or on the turn.
