USPO #01 began on Thursday attracting 68 entries. The final table of six will play out this afternoon. You can follow the action via the PokerNews live reporting blog or head over to PokerGo to catch the action live on a 30-minute delay.

The same structure is set for the PLO event today. Players will play down to an official final table of six and return on Saturday for its conclusion. Aria and Poker Central are enticing players to pre-register for the USPO events offering a rake-free buy-in if they arrive at the tournament desk before the event kicks off. All late-entries and re-entries will be subject to the fee.

Blind levels will last 30-minutes and players will start with 125,000 in tournament chips. There will be a 10-minute break every three levels and two re-entries are permitted. Late registration will close following the break after Level 9.

Where to Watch the Action

For those fans looking forward to watching their favorite player in action, look no further than Poker Central itself. All of the final tables will be live-streamed with a 30-minute delay on PokerGO. There has recently been some feedback about the lack of mixed-game coverage on TV. However, Poker Central is willing to test the idea of how well the mixed-game format translates to the live stream and fans can now look forward to watching all of the action.

Katz and Negreanu Clash in Monster Pot

Niveau 5 : 1,000/2,500, 0 ante
Cary Katz
Cary Katz

Things escalated pretty quickly on the turn of a {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Spades} board between Cary Katz and Daniel Negreanu. It is unclear how the betting went on the turn but Katz ended up all-in and at risk and Negreanu was ready to gamble.

Cary Katz: {4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{a-Hearts}
Daniel Negreanu: {6-Hearts}{6-Spades}{a-Spades}{j-Hearts}

Katz was ahead with a straight but Negreanu wasn't far behind with a set of sixes. The {k-Clubs} was a brick on the river and Katz scored the huge double to take the chip lead.

Monster Cooler Goes to Gorodinsky

Mike Gorodinsky
Mike Gorodinsky

With about 160,000 in the pot and a completed board reading {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}, Sam Soverel checked and Mike Gorodinsky bet 110,000. Soverel took no time announcing "pot", making it 483,000 and a stunned Gorodinsky quickly called.

Soverel tabled a full house with the {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{6-Clubs} but Gorodinsky had better revealing the {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}, making a better full house.

Soverel Eliminated on the Money Bubble

Sam Soverel
Sam Soverel

After leading the field for a large portion of the day and being a top stack moments after he fired his second bullet, Sam Soverel has busted on the money bubble.

We didn't catch Soverel's hand but he was short stacked following a huge cooler against Mike Gorodinsky. Gorodinsky came back for the rest of his stack and on a {10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{q-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{9-Spades} board, Gorodinsky won the pot tabling the {q-Diamonds}{a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Spades}.

The remaining 10 players are now in the money.

Looking down at a {4-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{j-Clubs} flop, Joshua Ladines bet 30,000 into a pot of 50,000. Rainer Kempe raised to 85,000 and back-to-back pot bets between the two saw both player's cards on their backs with Ladines at risk.

Joshua Ladines: {a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Rainer Kempe: {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Clubs}

Ladines was drawing slim and found no help from the {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} run out. Ladines banked $19,200.
