The US Poker Open $50,000 Main Event Set to Kick Off at Noon

After eight days of poker at the 2018 US Poker Open, it has come down to the USPO #08 - $50,000 Main Event. The final event of the festival kicks off at noon local time this afternoon with Day 1 of three at the Aria Resort & Casino.

Over the last week, poker fans around the world have been awarded live-streamed final tables featuring the best minds in poker. Stephen Chidwick is the overwhelming leader in the USPO money race and has his sights set on the USPO trophy as the Main Event gets underway.

Current US Poker Open Championship Standings:

PlacePlayerCountryEarnings
1Stephen ChidwickUnited Kingdom$994,650
2Benjamin PollakFrance$554,600
3Isaac HaxtonUnited States$341,250
4Daniel NegreanuCanada$282,500
5Jason KoonUnited States$269,500

Through the first six completed events, Chidwick has made four of the final tables capturing two titles, winning the first $25,000 NLHE event followed by the $25,000 Mixed-Game Championship just one day later. Justin Bonomo, Mike Gorodinsky, Ben Tollerene, and Benjamin Pollak have also notched wins throughout the festival.

The seventh event of the festival concludes today which will give Daniel Negreanu, Keith Tilston, and Tollerene all the chance to gain some ground in hopes of knocking Chidwick off the top spot on the leaderboard. Unfortunately, for them, Chidwick is also at that final table and currently has the chip lead as well.

As with every event of the USPO, any player who registers before the first card hits the air will not have to pay rake and all tables will play six-handed. Players will start with 150,000 in chips and blinds will increase every 60-minutes. Registration will close at the end of Level 10 on Day 1 with one re-entry permitted during that time.

PokerNews will be on the floor throughout play on Day 1 providing live coverage and updates. Follow @pokernews on Twitter, on Facebook, and Instagram.
