The 2019 US Poker Open continues today with the conclusion of Event #1: $10,000 NLH, a tournament that began with 90 entrants but is now down to the final table of six.

Leading the pack is former WSOP November Niner Joseph Cheong, but he has to contend with a tough final table that includes established high rollers Sean Winter and Stephen Chidwick. The latter is the reigning US Poker Open champ and is seeking his third USPO title.

The remaining players are guaranteed $54,000 in prize money but of course, everyone is eyeing up the $216,000 first-place prize. Whoever wins will also be out to an early lead in the 2019 USPO and put themselves in a good position to claim the extra $100,000 PokerGO is awarding the series winner.

Play will resume at the 20,000/50,000/50,000 level.

Back-to-Back Queens for Cappello

Niveau 21 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

After a raise and take with queens, Joseph Cappello picked up queens in the very next hand and raised to 135,000 with his {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}.

Stephen Chidwick called from the button with the {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}, both blinds folded, and then action went check-check on the {5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{k-Spades} flop. When the {6-Diamonds} appeared on the turn, Cappello led out for 140,000 and Chidwick folded.

Hernandez Fires Away

Niveau 21 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Joseph Cheong raised to 125,000 from the button with the {k-Spades}{j-Spades} and Joseph Cappello called from the small blind with the {4-Spades}{4-Hearts}. Lazaro Hernandez then three-bet to 325,000 from the big and both his opponents called to see the {q-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Clubs} flop.

Cappello checked, Hernandez bet 225,000, and only Cheong called to see the {6-Diamonds} turn.

Hernandez bet 375,000, Cheong called, and the {7-Hearts} completed the board on the river.

Hernandez bet just 325,000 with king high and Cheong folded.

Niveau 21 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante

Joseph Cappello raised to 125,000 on the button with the {j-Spades}{j-Diamonds} and Joseph Orsino defended from the big with the {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}.

When the flop came down {9-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{6-Clubs}, Orsino check-called a bet of 100,000 and then both players checked the {K-Diamonds} turn. Orsino fired out 300,000 on the {5-Spades} turn and Cappello burned a time extension before making the call and collecting the pot.

Joseph Orsino Eliminated in 6th Place ($54,000)

Niveau 21 : 30,000/60,000, 60,000 ante
David Orsino - 6th Place
David Orsino - 6th Place

Joseph Cheong raised to 175,000 with the {a-Clubs}{10-Hearts} from the cutoff and Joseph Orsino defended the big blind holding the {q-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}.

The {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Spades} flop gave both players two pair, but of course Cheong's was best. Orsino checked, Cheong bet 150,000, and Orsino check-raised to 500,000. Cheong responded by moving all in and Orsino called off for 1.205 million total.

Orsino was looking for another lady but was left wanting when the {7-Clubs} bricked the turn followed by the {9-Spades} on the river.
