Last Break of the Day

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Though it's only 40 minutes since the players returned from dinner, another break is scheduled now. It is the last of the day and will be 15 minutes long.

Abecassis Alone in the World

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

More than a handful of Winamax Team Pros tried their luck at the poker felt of Casino de Marrakech today, but only one is still going strong. Michelle Abecassis is still in his seat, sporting a stack of 140,000 while every single teammate; Calamusa, Kitai, Loosli, Baumann and Reskallah, all have hit the rail.

137 players remain.

Matthew Finds the Fold

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Michel Matthew was deep in the tank when we made it to table #8. Matthew had fired 23,000 on the river of a {K-Spades}{Q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Clubs}{A-Diamonds} board, but Jean-Pierre Besancon had made it 80,000 total behind him, and Matthew clearly wasn't sure what to do.

Ultimately time was called on Matthew, and he spend every single one of the sixty seconds contemplating his decision, before letting his hand go right before his hand was declared dead by the floor.

Leo Margets Busts in Spectacular Fashion

Niveau 11 : 1,200/2,400, 400 ante

Leo Margets made it 5,100 to go from first position, and both Sulvain Meriguet behind her and Pierre Nieto on the button made the call. Margets continued for 8,200 on the {7-Spades}{A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} flop, Meriguet made it 20,500 before Nieto three-bet to 57,000. Margets moved in for some additional chunk change (62,900 total), Meriguet made the call, and though Nieto was eager to get more chips in the pot, he was only allowed by the dealer to fold or call. He opted for the latter.

The {K-Spades} rolled off on the turn and Nieto instantly announced all-in for a total of 154,900, more than Meriguet was willing to invest, and he eventually made the fold.

Margets confidently turned over {A-Clubs}{7-Clubs} for a flopped two pair, but Nieto just shook his head before revealing {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for the bigger two pair. The {5-Hearts} river was no good for Margets, and the Spanish pro quickly left the tournament area while Nieto was left with quite some stacking of chips to attend to.

Cards Are Back in the Air

Play has resumed at the Winamax SISMIX Main Event
Play has resumed at the Winamax SISMIX Main Event

After an hour and 15 minutes of dinner break play has resumed for the remaining fighters of the felt in this SISMIX Main Event Day 1b. Three players opted to either re-enter or make use of the late registration option during the interlude, and thus the final number of entries today reaches an astounding 369.

To tie last year's number of participants, an additional 315 entries will be needed during the final heat tomorrow. With today's staggering number that seems very doable,

It's Time to Eat

Proust Finds the Triple

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Bruno Soutavong opened up the action with a raise from early position, Aurelien Soutchkov called on the button, and a short-stacked Sebastien Proust moved all-in for 31,200 out of the small blind. Soutavong made the call, but Soutchkov had other plans and swiftly made it 100,000 total, enough to get the pot heads up with Proust.

Sebastien Proust: {8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}
Aurelien Soutchkov: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

The board ran out {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{7-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}, and Proust's eights held up for a needed triple.

'Tsunamy' Gets There on the River

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

Javier Garcirreynaldos Barral is known under his nickname Tsunamy, and the Casino de Marrakech regular just hit quite the river to secure a crucial double-up.

He got it in holding {3-Hearts}{5-Hearts} on a board of {4-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{7-Hearts}, but the Spaniard was drawing to both a flush or a straight against the {7-Spades}{7-Diamonds} of his opponent, Michael Berrio.

The {2-Hearts} river gave Barral both, and the five-high flush was enough for the 135,000 chips pot. Berrio was left with just 1,700 chips, which he lost the very next hand to Idir Haiche.

Soutchkov Shoves Six Stacks: Paid With Six Chips

Niveau 10 : 1,000/2,000, 300 ante

A new chip has been introduced in the SISMIX Main Event as the first orange 25,000 chips have started to surface. Though it makes for some less impressing looking stacks, it does speed up the pace of the game significantly as a recent all-in pot on table 22 highlighted.

Aurelien Soutchkov and Mickael Muselli had gotten it all in before the flop, Soutchkov holding {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs} and Muselli holding {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}. The board ran out {6-Spades}{K-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}, and while it took the dealer a solid minute to count the voluminous stack of Soutchkov (good for 106,000), it took less than five seconds for Muselli to pay his dues with six chips total.
