Day 1b of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit at King's Kicks Off at 2pm

King's Resort Poker Arena
King's Resort Poker Arena

After a successful first starting day, the flagship €1,700 Main Event of the 2022 WSOP International Circuit in Rozvadov is on track to meet and surpass the €1,000,000 guarantee. Europe's biggest poker arena at the King's Resort saw 335 entries turn up and 108 players already booked their tickets for Day 2.

Many more will follow as the second and final starting stack is slated to get underway at 2pm local time. Once more, nine levels of 60 minutes each are scheduled and there will be a 15-minute break every two levels. Furthermore, the 30-minute dinner break for a quick trip to the casino buffet takes place after level four. The action will conclude just after midnight local time.

All participants receive 50,000 in chips and can purchase up to two re-entries throughout the day in case they come up empty-handed. The first blinds are 100-200 with a big blind ante of 200, providing all contenders 250 big blinds worth of ammunition after sitting down for the first level.

The late registration remains open until the start of level 12, giving all those late entrants a shot for the first two levels on Day 2. Chip leader so far is Kosovo's Valon Olluri, who successfully re-entered and accumulated 552,500. Josef Huber was the only other player above half a million in chips and advanced with 535,000. Whether or not anyone on Day 1b will surpass either of these impressive stack sizes remains to be seen.

Defending champion Andrea Ricci was among the notable casualties on Day 1a and will very likely return today to try and defend his title. The same also applies for the WSOP Europe bracelet winners Antoine Vranken, Emil Bise, and 2021 WSOPE Europe Main Event champion Josef Gulas Jr.

Stay tuned for all the action from King's Resort as the PokerNews live reporting team will be on the floor until a winner has been crowned on January 25, 2022.

Donnini's Creativity Pays Off

Niveau 1 : 100/200, 200 ante
Danilo Donnini
Danilo Donnini

Four ways to the {q-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} flop, Dogan Guengoer checked out of the small blind and was the only one to call a bet worth 5,600 by Danilo Donnini in the cutoff. Guengoer check-called another 10,700 on the {8-Diamonds} turn and checked the {2-Spades} river. He tabled the {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a huge busted draw while Donnini won the pot with the {8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Another player at the table wiggled the finger at the Italian, who shrugged while raking in the pot.

Navon Doubles Through Donnini

Niveau 2 : 100/300, 300 ante
Danilo Donnini
Danilo Donnini

Afik Navon raised for Danilo Donnini to three-bet to 2,100, Navon then four-bet to 7,200 and the Italian called. On the {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} flop, Navon's bet of 3,600 was called and he then opted to check the {4-Diamonds} turn. Donnini bet 7,800 and called a check-raise to 17,500.

Navon jammed the {2-Clubs} river and Donnini tank-called. The player from Israel celebrated as he rolled over {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} for the nuts while Donnini's {6-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} were briefly exposed. Once he saw what cards he was called by, Navon essentially mocked his opponent which Donnini didn't take lightly. After some words in Italian, he added "you won the pot so shut up."

Following a raise to 1,000 and two calls, Yehuda Cohen got the last 2,900 in preflop and was called three ways. The {9-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop was checked to Uri Gilboa, who bet 4,000 and isolated successfully.

Yehuda Cohen: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}
Uri Gilboa: {k-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Neither the {8-Clubs} turn nor the {5-Clubs} river were of any help and Cohen headed straight to the cash game tables.

Pikria Mosesvili limped from the hijack and Tom Dingenen made it 1,400 to go on the button. David Taborsky three-bet to 6,400 in the small blind and Aliaksandr Shylko tanked in the big blind. The clock was about to be called on him for Shylko to then four-bet to 15,000. It folded to Taborsky who jammed and Shylko called it off.

Aliaksandr Shylko: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
David Taborsky: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

The {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{3-Hearts} board ensured the double of Shylko for 49,600 while Taborsky dropped below half the starting stack.

Sammy Truong

The flop showed {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{2-Hearts} and Vito Branciforte checked out of the small blind. Clement Cure bet 10,600 and Sammy Truong called in the hijack. Branciforte then jammed for 45,400 and Cure tanked before jamming for little more. Truong asked for a count on both and called with the superior stack.

Vito Branciforte: {4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}
Clement Cure: {10-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Sammy Truong: {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}

The top two pair held thanks to the {9-Spades} turn and {q-Spades} river, sending Cure and Branciforte to the rail.

David Taborsky

Following a limp, David Taborsky moved all-in for the 14,300 he had behind and Dogan Guengoer called on the button. Sascha Minerva then jammed in the small blind and Guengoer snap-called.

David Taborsky: {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Dogan Guengoer: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Sascha Minerva: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}

The worst pocket pair got there on the {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{9-Spades} board and Taborsky tripled up, while Guengoer doubled through Minerva for 24,200.

Ali Amelipour
Ali Amelipour

Joining the action on the {a-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} turn with around 30,000 in the middle, Ali Amelipour checked his option. Athanasios Kidas splashed in a bet worth 30,000 and Amelipour then jammed for two times of that. The quick call of Kidas followed but he was instantly given the bad news.

Ali Amelipour: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Athanasios Kidas: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Unless a joker or duplicate card were to come, Kidas had to fork over a decent portion of his stack. The {j-Hearts} river confirmed Amelipour's double for 65,100.

Moagi Soars Up Further; Soceanu Busts in Strange Hand

Niveau 7 : 500/1,000, 1,000 ante
Cecil Moagi
Cecil Moagi

Three ways to the {j-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Spades} flop, Giorgio Soceanu was already at risk and called by Cecil Moagi. The latter had accidentally exposed his cards already only to have them turned over again. Min Sung Lee was the only one still to act and he then called all-in as the shortest stack.

Min Sung Lee: {8-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}
Giorgio Soceanu: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Cecil Moagi: {8-Spades}{7-Spades}

The {6-Diamonds} turn and {9-Clubs} river ensured the split pot between Lee and Moagi while the latter also knocked out Soceanu.
