Only 13 Remain in Event #1: $565 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em with $61,909 For the Winner

Brad Helm
Brad Helm

The field has been cut down from 566 to just 13 in Event #1: $565 Casino Employees No-Limit Hold'em and players are just a few spots away from what will be the second final table of this series. Currently leading the way is Jodie Sanders, a table games dealer from Southern California.

On Wednesday night, Sanders bagged up over half a million chips, giving him over 100,000 more than his nearest competitor, Jordan Hufty, who bagged up 399,000. Sanders has cashed in this event before, having already improved upon his 28th-place finish from years ago by making it to the final 13.

Many of the remaining players in the field are locking up their very first World Series of Poker cash. The exception is perhaps the most accomplished of those remaining, Bradley Helm, who has 13 World Series of Poker cashes already under his belt worth more than $150,000. Helm, who is a Poker Host, is looking for his second WSOP final table as well. He'll look to improve on that fourth-place finish with a win here in this event for his first bracelet. Helm bagged up 140,000 on Day 1 which put him right around the middle of the pack.

The plan is to play down to a winner on Thursday and with 13 left, it's still anyone's game. Levels have been increased today from 30 minutes to 60 minutes, so it's likely that play will slow down at least a little bit. Players are gunning for the first-place prize of $61,909 and a World Series of Poker gold bracelet which is a big jump up from the $2,484 that they are guaranteed to start the day.

Anthony Dewald
Anthony Dewald

Jodie Sanders opened to 25,000 from early position and Anthony Dewald moved all in for around 44,000 on the button. The action folded back to Sanders who quickly made the call and the cards were tabled.

Jodie Sanders: {4-Spades}{4-Clubs}
Anthony Dewald: {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}

Dewald was flipping for his tournament life and took the lead when the flop came {k-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{6-Spades}. However, the dealer burned and turned the {4-Diamonds} which gave Sanders a set of fours and Dewald was drawing dead to the {a-Clubs} on the river.

Tom Ratanakul shoved all in for 55,000 from early position and Jordan Hufty called from the cutoff. Terry Bania was in the big blind and shipped all in as well for 111,000 and Hufty called to put both players at risk.

Jordan Hufty: {a-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}
Terry Bania: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Tom Ratanakul: {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}

The flop came {a-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{6-Clubs} and Hufty took the lead with a pair of aces. The {9-Diamonds} on the turn and the {8-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing, and Hufty eliminated both of his opponents. There will now be a quick break while the unofficial final table is prepared on the main stage.

Brad Helm shoved all in for 111,000 from under the gun and Jason Pepper moved all in over the top for 135,000 in middle position. Jordan Hufty woke up in the big blind with a monster and he quickly called, putting both players at risk.

Jordan Hufty: {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}
Jason Pepper: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Brad Helm: {a-Clubs}{7-Clubs}

The flop came {6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} and Hufty was still well out front with his pair of kings. The turn brought the {q-Hearts} and the river the {4-Diamonds}, and Hufty scored a double-knockout to bring the official final table down to just eight players. Skyler Yeaton Eliminated in 8th Place ($5,222)

Niveau 21 : 5,000/10,000, 1,000 ante
Skyler Yeaton
Skyler Yeaton

Hand #1:

On the first hand of the official final table, Skyler Yeaton moved all in from under the gun for 56,000. Action folded around to the blinds where Jordan Hufty moved all in over the top with a covering stack. The big blind folded so the players showed down their hands.

"Do you have kings again?" Yeaton asked.

Skyler Yeaton: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}
Jordan Hufty: {A-Clubs}{4-Hearts}

Yeaton shouted to his rail what the two hands were.

"Four!" his rail shouted.

"I have ace-queen!" an exasperated Yeaton replied.

But his rail's calls were answered on a flop on {A-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs} which put Yeaton in a big hole. He didn't catch up on the {7-Diamonds} turn or the {K-Spades} river, and he was eliminated from the tournament in eighth place, collecting $5,222 for his run in Event #1.

Hand #12: From the button, Jodie Sanders raised to 27,000 and action folded to the big blind where Thomas Yenowine moved all in for roughly 80,000. Sanders shrugged then called and it was on to a showdown.

Thomas Yenowine: {A-Spades}{K-Hearts}
Jodie Sanders: {2-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} which gave Sanders a set on the turn. Yenowine didn't improve on the river and he was sent to the rail in seventh place, collecting $6,953 for his run.

Hand #31: The action folded to Tom Booker in the small blind who shoved all in for his last 55,000. Zachary Seymour called from the big blind and the cards were on their backs.

Zachary Seymour: {k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Tom Booker: {j-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

The board ran out {9-Spades}{9-Hearts}{5-Spades}{q-Clubs}{9-Clubs} and Booker was unable to connect with the board. He was sent to the rail in sixth place and now just five players remain battling for the coveted WSOP gold bracelet.

Hand #34: On the button, Jordan Hufty opened with a raise to 24,000. Action folded to the big blind where Won Kim moved all in over the top for about 240,000. Action was back on Hufty who called.

Jordan Hufty: {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}
Won Kim: {A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}

The flop was not good for Kim when it came {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, putting Kim drawing to runner outs. The turn was the {Q-Spades} which did give him some outs to a chop, but the river was the {Q-Diamonds} and with two pair, Hufty scooped the pot. Kim took home $13,031 for his fifth-place finish.

Hand #35: Under the gun, Zachary Seymour moved all in for 342,000. Jordan Hufty was next to act and he dropped into the tank, thinking for a couple of minutes before he eventually decided to call. Everyone else folded and it was on to a showdown.

Zachary Seymour: {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}
Jordan Hufty: {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

The flop came down {Q-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} not giving much help to Hufty. The turn was the {9-Clubs} though and that gave him some flush outs. The river was the {3-Clubs} and that completed Hufty's flush draw. That earned him the pot while Seymour was eliminated from the tournament, taking home $18,332 for fourth place.

Hand #75: Katie Kopp moved all in on the button for a little more than 200,000. Jordan Hufty took one quick look at his cards and called instantly.

Jordan Hufty: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}
Katie Kopp: {K-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Kopp let out a big sigh upon seeing the cards. The flop gave her a pair when it came down {6-Spades}{4-Spades}{4-Diamonds} but it also took away her two pair outs as it put a pair on the board. The turn was the {5-Clubs} changing nothing and the {3-Clubs} on the river also kept Hufty in the lead. That earned him the pot while Kopp takes home $26,250 for her third-place finish.

Players are now on a short 15-minute break as they prepare for heads-up play.
