Valerstein Doubles Through Mizrachi

Niveau 10 : 400/800, 0 ante

Roman Valerstein got his last 10,800 all in preflop holding {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}. He was called by Michael Mizrachi who held {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs} and a short stacked player was all in for 2,000 with {q-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}.

The dealer fanned the {k-Hearts}{7-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop and Mizrachi flopped two pair to take the lead. The {a-Hearts} hit the turn and Valerstein took control of the hand turning top two pair. The river {3-Hearts} sealed the deal for Valerstein and he more than doubled his stack.

Guagenti Eliminates Israelashvili

Niveau 9 : 300/600, 0 ante

There was already 2,300 in the main pot and the board read {k-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. The small blind led out with a bet of 1,700 and Roland Israelashvili called. Nick Guagenti raised to 9,200 from the button and Israelashvili called.

They went heads up to the {3-Spades} river and Israelashvili went deep into the tank for nearly two minutes. He eventually moved all in for his last 9,000 and Guagenti nearly beat him into the pot with the call. Before Israelashvili could show his hand, Guagenti tabled {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{5-Hearts} for a full house, nines full of threes.

Israelashvili threw his hand face down into the muck and Guagenti scored the knockout.

Ezequiel Waigel Nearing the Century Chip Mark

Niveau 8 : 250/500, 0 ante

With such a massive field and more than 400 players still in the hunt, it's been a bit of a challenge to spot the chipleader, but we may have just found him. Argentina's Ezequiel Waigel is now sitting behind a mountain of over 90,000 and is near the top of the Day 1b chip counts.

Waigel is fresh off a deep WSOP run in Event #7 — the massive 13,070-entry $565 No-Limit Hold'em Colossus. His 39th-place finish earned him more than $14,000 and he looks to follow it up with another deep run here in Event #19: $565 Pot-Limit Omaha.
