Ruzicka in Action

Niveau 5 : 250/500, 75 ante

Vojtech Ruzicka entered the Marathon field at the start of level 4 and has already won a sizeable pot.

There was a raise to 1,200 from middle position and a flat from the button before Ruzicka three-bet to 4,850. Only the initial raiser called and they were heads-up to a flop of {a-Spades}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts}. Both players checked, and the action mirrored on the {5-Hearts} turn before Ruzicka bet 3,400 on the {j-Spades} river.

'Did I let your jack get there?' he said, before making the call.

Ruzicka tabled {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}, and his opponent mucked.

Simon Deadman
Simon Deadman

Simon Deadman was in the small blind and up against his opponent in the big blind on a flop of {9-Spades}{4-Hearts}{3-Spades}. He check-called for 1,800 before check-calling again for 3,200 on the {10-Clubs} turn.

Both players checked the {q-Clubs} river and Deadman turned over {k-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} for top pair. The big blind player triple-checked his hand before reluctantly folding.

Vonk Wins a Pot

Niveau 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Marcel Vonk is one of five Dutch poker players with a bracelet and he is back again trying to win another. So far he managed to hover around the starting stack every break, but he finally got some liftoff.

Vonk bet out 2,000 on a four-card board reading {6-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{Q-Hearts}. He got a call from one player, and his 3,000 bet after the {3-Spades} river completed the board was enough to take down the pot without showdown.

Konnikova Running Hot

Niveau 4 : 200/400, 50 ante

Maria Konnikova has just eliminated another player from the Marathon field after getting it all in on the flop.

Konnikova raised from under the gun and saw five players call. The flop came down {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Spades}, and after the blinds checked, she continued for 2,900. Three players folded before her small-blind opponent raised to 6,000. The big blind got out the way and she quickly placed her stack of six T$5,000 chips into the middle, enough to put the small blind all in. He made the call and was ahead.

Maria Konnikova: {a-Hearts}{5-Hearts}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}

Both players had two pair, but Konnikova was behind until the turn brought a miracle {5-Diamonds} for a full house and the river bricked. Konnikova moves up to 70,000 and her opponent exited.
