A total of 347 players out of 2,219 entries arrived for an early 11 a.m. restart at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino for Day 2 of Event #36: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em. With another ten levels of 60 minutes in the bag, the day has come to an end with Jerry Weber emerging as overnight chipleader.

Weber ended the day with a staggering 884,000 and leads the way of the remaining 43 runners. The other big stacks that will be looking to come out on top of Day 3 include Paul W Lee (573,000), John Borzio (523,000), Linda Iwaniak (521,000), James Brown (513,000) and John Erickson (502,000).

There was a bundle of bracelet winners that started the day but failed to make Day 3, that list includes Michael Moore (125th Place- $2,209), Konstantin Puchkov (180th Place- $1,972), Gary Benson (230th Place- $1,780), and Swedish poker icon and two-time bracelet winner Chris Bjorin (263rd Place- $1,625).

Players hit the money mark around the end of level 11, where Edward Brodsky moved his remaining chips in the middle and was called by David Blickenstaff. The board ran out in the favor of Blickenstaff, who would end up with a full house and popping the bubble. All remaining players were then guaranteed at least $1,500, with each final table player receiving at least a slice of $25,633 of the $1,971,900 prize pool, and the winner pulling in a prodigious $311,451.

Day 3 will restart at 11 a.m. local time in the Tan section of the Amazon room, with play resuming in level 21 with blinds at 5,000/10,000 and a running ante of 1,000. The levels will be 60-minutes in duration, and players will get a 15-minute break after every two levels. There will also be a 60-minute dinner break at the end of level six. The players will be here until the Super Seniors champion is crowned, who will be taking down a $311,451 first place prize, along with a prestigious World Series of Poker bracelet.

Brown is the Table Captain

Niveau 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

James Brown has been involved in a lot of pots late on Day 2, and he has been winning most of them to boot.

The cutoff opened to 25,000 and James Brown called from the small blind. The flop came {a-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, both players checked and the turn fell the {k-Diamonds}.

Brown reached for chips, pushing in 30,000 and his opponent then thought for a few moments before throwing his cards in the muck. Brown has now surpassed the 500k mark, enjoying a really great end to the day.

Iwaniak Busts Strauss

Niveau 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante

Irvin Strauss got his stack of about 150,000 all in preflop holding {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} but ran into the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts} of Linda Iwaniak. The board ran out {q-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and Iwaniak's pocket kings held up sending Strauss to the rail.

Strauss is our 49th place Event #36: $1,000 Super Seniors No-Limit Hold'em finisher earning $5,503 and Iwaniak chipped up to over half a million with less than 30 minutes of play left in the night.
