Ban Lai Is the Bubble Boy

The board was reading {9-Spades}{7-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{10-Hearts} and the pot had been bet on the flop and the turn when Ban Lai sent all his chips in the middle for 34,700. He was facing Daniel Tang on the button who made the call.

Holding {8-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}, Lai had the dominated hand against {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds} in Tang's hand for the straight. After the floors ended up counting the remaining players and announced the bubble had burst, Lai made his way to the exit.

Ian Steinmann Doubles Through Baitai Li

Ian Steinman got his stack of 27,000 all in preflop and was flipping against Baitai Li.

Jaroslaw Waskow opened to 2,200 in middle position and it was called by Maria Konnikova in the cut off and the player in the small blind.

On the {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{3-Clubs} flop, Waskow continued for 3,000 and Konnikova three-bet to 12,000. The small blind player folded and Waskow announced all in for 25,000. Konnikova snap-called and the players tabled their hands.

Konnikova started laughing, saying it was the second time she hit trips and was facing a better set. Waskow doubled up and Konnikova is now down to 32,000.

Michael Morgan opened for 6,500 from under the gun and Baiti Li on the button made the call.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{7-Hearts} and Li called Morgan's continuation bet for 5,000. Both players checked the {a-Spades} turn. The river was a {q-Diamonds} and Morgan bet 5,200. Li announced all in, putting Morgan's tournament at risk as we are close to the bubble. After some thought, the latter ended up folding.

Valon Gruda Sends Tom Hall to the Rail

Valon Gruda raised preflop and Tom Hall three-bet to 11,000, which left him just 1,000 back. Action folded back to Gruda and he just called.

When the flop came down {k-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{2-Hearts}, Gruda bet 1,000 and Hall called off.
