A Few More Updated Chip Counts; Bonomo Busts Twice to Bowker

Niveau 12 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Justin Bonomo
Justin Bonomo

Justin Bonomo busted for a second time and Kyle Bowker walked up to the media desk to confirm that he had taken the chips of Bonomo for a second time after he had re-entered and received the same seat.

According to Bowker he defended his big blind against Bonomo's raise and the duo check-called a flop of {Q-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{4-}. On the {7-} turn, Bowker check-raised the pot from 16,000 to 80,000 and Bonomo called with 50,000 behind. Bowker shoved the {X-Diamonds} river and Bonomo called with {A-}{9-Diamonds}{7-}{4-Diamonds} for the flush with the nine, having turned two pair. Bowker had {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades} for the nut flush and sent Bonomo packing once more.

Song Doubles Through Capitan

Niveau 12 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante

Bogdan Capitan had won a big pot off Jacob Kalb previously and peaked at 800,000 in chips, though, his stack just took a minor hit when Michael Song had doubled through him.

Picking up the action on the {9-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} flop, Kalb checked in the big blind and Song bet 8,000. Only Capitan called and the {A-Diamonds} turn went check, check. On the {A-Clubs} river, Song moved all in for 33,500 and Capitan called after some consideration. Song rolled over the {A-Spades}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a full house, aces over fours, and Capitan mucked.

Karakitukov Busts Zinno With Magical Run Out

Niveau 11 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

The action started with a raise to 7,500 by Veselin Karakitukov on the button and Anthony Zinno three-bet for the size of the pot out of the big blind, making it 24,000 to go. Karakitukov called and the duo headed to a flop of {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}. Zinno bet 49,500 with around 30,000 behind and Karakitukov reraised, Zinno quickly called all in.

Anthony Zinno: {A-Spades}{J-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}
Veselin Karakitukov: {A-Hearts}{Q-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

"What do you have, just a pair of eights?" Zinno asked and leaped out of his chair to see the cards of Karakitukov. Indeed, the Bulgarian only had a pair thus far, while Zinno had an overpair, open-ended straight draw and flush draw.

However, the {8-Hearts} turn and {A-Clubs} river run out improved Karakitukov to a full house and the 2015 champion of this very event was eliminated towards the end of the first level of Day 2.

Benyamine vs. Calderaro

Niveau 11 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

James Calderaro was in middle position and facing a decision for 20,000 from David Benyamine, who was under the gun. There were about 55,000 chips in the existing pot and the board read {A-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{7-Clubs}.

"That's the only way you can win the pot is to bet," Calderaro said as he considered his decision. He ultimately called and Benyamine flipped over {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} for a set of jacks, which was good enough to win the pot.

Perry Doubles Through Stein

Niveau 11 : 1,500/3,000, 0 ante

Ralph Perry raised to 10,000 and Sam Stein came along from the big blind to see a flop of {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}. Stein checked and Perry continued for 4,000 before facing a check-raise to 16,000 by Stein. Perry called.

After the {7-Spades} turn, Stein bet the pot for 53,500 and Perry moved all in for 62,000. Stein called.

Ralph Perry: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{Q-Clubs}{3-Clubs}
Sam Stein: {K-Hearts}{K-Spades}{J-Spades}{9-Spades}

Perry only had two aces as outs in order to avoid the elimination, and sure enough the {A-Spades} fell on the river to accomplish just that.
