Tai Kornuth Has a Diffficult Start

Niveau 1 : 25/50, 0 ante

The flop was showing {6-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Hearts} when Emily Tai Kornuth bet 600 from the small blind and her opponent in the big blind raised it to 1,600. Tai Kornuth eventually called and the turn brought a {5-Diamonds}. Tai Kornuth made a bet worth 1,600, but her opponent moved all in. After some thought, Tai Kornuth ended up folding her hand.

The tournament has just started, but a lot of familiar players have already taken their seats including last year's champion Heidi May (already involved in a big hand — see below) and 2011 champion Marsha Wolak. Wrong Start For the Defending Champion

Niveau 1 : 25/50, 0 ante
Heidi May
Heidi May

It wasn't the very first hand at her table, but it was the first one 2017 WSOP Ladies Event winner Heidi May played today — and it was a big one.

In a blind-versus-blind situation, May in the big blind called a raise from April Facey in the small blind who had lost a few chips from her starting stack just prior to this hand. The flop came {4-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{5-Spades} and May called another bet, this time for 1,000.

Things heated up on the turn {2-Clubs}, as Facey announced all in, putting May into a difficult decision. "Not on the first hand," said May, before she ended up calling with {q-Clubs}{q-Spades}.

Facey showed {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}, and after the {6-Diamonds} river brought no help to the defending champion, May fell down to 800 chips right after the tournament started.
