McKenna Claims Most of the Biggest Pot of the Tournament So Far

Niveau 18 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

There was a ton of chips already in the middle of the table on the river on a board reading {9-Spades}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{8-Spades}{3-Hearts}. Michael McKenna, Abdel Hamid and Jason Berilgen were all showing down their hands.

Michael McKenna: {A-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}
Adbel Hamid: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}
Jason Berilgen: {A-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Spades}{Q-Clubs}

McKenna was holding two pair and the nut low and his two pair was good to claim the high end of the pot. Hamid and Berilgen both held ace-deuce as well. They each claimed only a third of the low pot while McKenna took the entirety of the high pot.

Listening in on some of the conversation from the table, Hamid apparently shoved all in on the turn, hoping to get one of the players to fold, as he held the ace of spades. McKenna was holding the nut low though and he didn't fold and neither did Berilgen.

With that, McKenna is now the chip leader in the tournament with over a million chips while the other two players are left short.

Galfond Scoops a Big One From Palarino

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Both Phil Galfond and Jeffrey Palarino had 72,000 each in front of them on a board of {A-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} and both players checked through to the {A-Hearts} on the river.

On the river, Palarino was first to act and he led out with a bet of 100,000. Galfond mulled it over for a little bit, then moved all in for 177,000 more. Palarino dropped into the tank, thought it over, then decided to fold, so Galfond scooped the pot with no showdown.

"Show the kings!" Chad Power said from the other side of the table.

"I did not have kings," Galfond said after the hand.

Rep Porter is the Bubble Boy, Almost Makes a Big Fold

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
Rep Porter
Rep Porter

According to Brandon Shack-Harris, Rep Porter limped in from under the gun and Ryan Laplante called from the small blind. Shack-Harris checked from the big blind.

The flop was {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}{J-Spades} and action checked around to the {K-Diamonds} on the turn. There, Shack-Harris led out with a bet of 20,000 and Porter called. Laplante folded.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and Shack-Harris checked again. Porter put out a bet of 48,000 and Shack-Harris jammed all in with a covering stack. Porter dropped into the tank and thought for a long while. It took him several minutes, but eventually, he decided to put it in and call. Shack-Harris showed {J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds} for quads. Porter tried to muck but the dealer tabled his hand revealing {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{2-Spades}{K-} for a full house.

Porter seemed like he definitely considered folding the hand to Shack-Harris but ultimately decided to go with it. With that, he was eliminated from the tournament as the last player to walk away without a payday.

Baker Doubles Through Eilers

Niveau 19 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

David "ODB" Baker moved all in before the flop and action folded around where Benjamin Eilers raised on the button to around 100,000. Action folded around and it was on to a showdown.

"You don't have a better hand than me this time," Baker said.

David Baker: {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}
Benjamin Eilers: {A-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{2-Clubs}

The board ran out {Q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and that kept Baker in the lead all the way, allowing him to double up back over 100,000 chips.
