Anderson All Smiles as He Exits the Building

Niveau 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante
Calvin Anderson
Calvin Anderson

Calvin Anderson went from being near the top of the leaderboard to out in just a matter of hands.

It was five ways to the flop which fell {a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades} and Anderson fired out a bet of 19,000. Juan Vecino made the call, the turn fell the {7-Spades}, Anderson threw out 57,000, and again Vecino called.

The river fell the {5-Clubs}, Anderson moved all in, and was immediately called by Vecino. Anderson tabled {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a flopped set and Vecino turned over {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the nut straight, taking down the pot and doubling through Anderson.

A few hands after, Zach Schwanke opened from the button, Anderson moved all in for his remaining 60,000 from the big blind, and Schwanke made the call. The players turned over their hands.

Zach Schwanke: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}
Calvin Anderson: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The board was of no help for Anderson as it came {8-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and he was eliminated by Schwanke.

Mario Lampropulos is eliminated from the tournament by what looked like Akihiro Konishi. What exactly took place is unclear, but the Argentinian stood up from the table and walked away and Konishi was the one stacking chips.

Greenwood Finds a Double

Niveau 17 : 2,000/4,000, 500 ante

The flop showed {6-Clubs}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}, a player in the small blind bet 15,000, and Lucas Greenwood moved all in for 68,000 from the button. His opponent snap-called.

His opponent tabled {q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} for a flush and straight draw, Greenwood showed {a-Clubs}{a-Spades} for a pair of aces and the lead. The turn came down a brick as the {6-Spades} hit and the river changed nothing when the {8-Hearts} fell on the table.

Greenwood secured a double-up with aces and has now surpassed the 100 thousand mark for the first time during this tournament.

Javier Fernandez from a previous event
Javier Fernandez from a previous event

Javier Fernandez got his last chips in the middle against his right-hand neighbor. He already had opened up {A-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and his opponent counted out the correct amount to call before opening up {J-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}.

The board ran out {7-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and Fernandez was eliminated from the tournament, followed by a loud "Payout!" from the dealer.
