Anthony Zinno Eliminated

Niveau 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Anthony Zinno
Anthony Zinno

On the first hand after play resumed, Anthony Zinno shoved all in for 70,500 from the big blind over a raise to 10,000. His opponent folded, and Zinno collected the pot to move to 87,500.

In the next hand, the player under the gun opened to 11,000, and when it folded round to Zinno in the small blind, he moved all in for 87,000. The big blind folded, but the original raiser quickly called.

Zinno: {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{A-Diamonds}

The dealer spread a {Q-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{J-Hearts} flop to give Zinno outs to any heart or ten. Unfortunately for the WSOP bracelet winner, he would see the {4-Clubs} and {8-Clubs} roll off on the turn and river, and Zinno was eliminated.

A Huge Double for Geyer

Adam Geyer
Adam Geyer

There was a massive pot of about 600,000 in the middle and the complete {Q-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} board was out when we got to the table. The small blind had shoved, putting Adam Geyer, who was in middle position, to a decision for his 282,000-chip stack. After some time in the tank, Geyer called.

"Your aces are good," said the small blind as he flipped over {K-Diamonds}{K-Clubs}.

Geyer tabled {A-Spades}{A-Hearts} and took the pot to double up, putting his stack into seven-figure territory.

No Church in the Wild

Niveau 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

On a board of {5-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{7-Clubs} with roughly 60,000 in the middle, Phil Ivey checked from the hijack over to his opponent Naor Slobodskoy on the button.

Slobodskoy bet out 24,000, and Ivey called as the river landed the {10-Spades}.

Ivey now led for 60,000, and after a few moments, Slobodskoy slid out two stacks of orange 5,000-denomination chips for a raise to 200,000.

Immediately, Ivey shot him a stare like he was looking deep into his soul for an answer.

Ivey continued to riffle chips in his right hand as his trademark open-mouth blank stare followed.

A crowd of spectators and ESPN cameras had gathered around the table to sweat Ivey's decision, and for the 10-time WSOP bracelet winner, he continually traded glances between Slobodskoy and into blank space.

Several minutes went by, and Ivey removed his headphones and continued looking at Slobodskoy who had remained motionless the entire time since he slid out the raise.

Ivey continued to search for an answer, and with a multitude of camera crews now surrounding his table, Ivey slowly pushed his cards to the muck.

Slobodskoy reached forward to pull back his 200,000 raise, and Ivey tapped the table and acknowledged Slobodskoy as the pot was pushed to Slobodskoy, and the players at the table returned to normal play as the surrounding media vacated the area.

The action folded to Phil Ivey in the cutoff, and he raised to 11,000. Shawn Daniels defended the big blind, and the flop landed {10-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{10-Spades}.

Daniels checked, and Ivey bet 10,000. Daniels called, and the turn fell the {2-Diamonds} and Daniels checked again.

Ivey quickly bet out 30,000, and Daniels called once more as the river fell the {J-Spades}.

Daniels checked, Ivey lined up a bet of 70,000 and slid it into the pot.

Daniels mulled over his decision for close to a minute and then called.

Ivey revealed his {10-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} for trips, and Daniels shook his head and mucked.

A massive pot was brewing between Phil Ivey and Simeon Naydenov on his left. The board read {7-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{4-Spades} and the two players got all of their chips in the middle on the river, with Ivey being the player at risk for 365,000.

Ivey turned over {j-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for jacks full of threes while Naydenov held {7-}{7-} for sevens full of threes. Ivey was lucky to hit a jack on the turn and it earned him a full double up to over 800,000 chips as the money bubble looms.

On a board of {A-Hearts}{K-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{J-Clubs} with roughly 150,000 in the middle, Kristen Bicknell was confronted with a bet from the big blind for 50,000.

Bicknell was in the cutoff, and she mulled over her decision for a few minutes before making the call.

The river landed the {A-Diamonds}, and the big blind plonked out a stack of orange 5,000-denomination chips.

"I'm all in!" quickly announced Bicknell as she pushed forward all her chips.

The dealer broke her stacks down, and Bicknell's all in was for 92,500 and she tabled her {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for the nut full house, while her opponent showed his {A-Spades}{10-Spades} for trips.

Sam Taylor Eliminated by Chi Chan, Stone Bubble Reached

Niveau 15 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Sam Taylor
Sam Taylor

With about 100,000 chips in the middle and the board reading {A-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, Sam Taylor was in the big blind and facing a decision for the remainder of his approximately 150,000-chip stack from Chi Chan, who was in the hijack. Taylor went into the tank for several minutes until tournament staff arrived at the table and gave him half a minute to act. As the final seconds ticked down, Taylor moved some T-1,000 chips forward to call and put himself at risk.

Once the cards were turned over, it was Chan who had the winner with {A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} for aces full of threes. Taylor showed {A-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for trip aces and Chan took the pot to eliminate Taylor, bringing the 2018 Main Event to the stone bubble.

The tournament went on break immediately following the conclusion of the hand to the obvious displeasure of the remaining players. The Amazon room was filled with the sound of booing as they began to file out of the exits. The light blue T-500 chips were colored up during the break to make the bagging process quicker.

Mallor Doubles on the Bubble

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Ross Mallor
Ross Mallor

The player in mid-position raised to 12,000 and Ben Cade three-bet to 40,000 from the button. Ross Mallor was sitting in the big blind with 51,000 and was in the tank trying to figure out what to do. After a while, Mallor shoved. The initial raiser folded and Cade called.

The ESPN TV crew and the rest of the media that is covering the WSOP Main Event swarmed the table. So did a bunch of players who were curious enough to see what was happening. There were also two other tables with all-ins and calls, Jack Effel came over to announce the action.

Ross Mallor: {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}
Ben Cade: {Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts}

The board ran out {J-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{A-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} to give Mallor a pair of kings on the flop and two pair on the turn. A diamond on the river would have split the pot, a ten on the river would mean that Mallor would be eliminated.

The {7-Clubs} on the river meant that Mallor would double up and he high-fived his neighboring player and celebrated loudly.

Matthew Hopkins Bubbles the 2018 World Series of Poker Main Event

Niveau 16 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Matthew Hopkins
Matthew Hopkins

Bryce McVay raised to 15,000 from middle position, Matthew Hopkins reraised all in for 49,000 from the button and McVay called.

Once the other all-in and call took place, the hands were revealed.

McVay tabled {A-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}, dominating the {A-Clubs}{5-Hearts} held by Hopkins.

The flop came down {10-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}, providing little help to Hopkins. The turn was the {2-Hearts}, leaving Hopkins with just three outs to survive. The river was the {A-Spades}, locking up pot for McVay and sending the remaining 1,182 players into the money.

It's not a complete loss for Hopkins, though, as he will receive a $10,000 entry into the 2019 World Series of Poker Main Event.
