Jamie Gold Entertains the Table

Niveau 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Jamie Gold is double-fisting CocoTaps coconut water and giving his table mates a lesson on hydration.

"Cheap water does not hydrate you," Gold said to his fellow players. "If you drink really bad bottled water, you're not hydrated."

Gold then went on to tell the table that he valued their company and was having a great experience, even sitting with a below-average 36,000 stack.

"Sure, it's great to have a bunch of fish at the table and have 500,000 chips. But I'd rather have what I have in front of me here, and be at a table with great people. Because you can't get your time back."

It's safe to say everyone at Pavillion Green #248 loves having the 2006 Main Event champ at the table.

Round One of the Battle Of Minnesotans Goes To Rutledge

Niveau 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Dave Rutledge of Mankato, Minnesota, checked an {a-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds} flop, as did the big blind. Moorhead, Minnesota's Ahmed Taleb bet 7,000 into the pot of around 12,000, and only Rutledge called.

Both players checked the {6-Hearts} turn, and Rutledge flicked out 10,000 when the {9-Spades} fell on the river. Taleb wasted little time in calling, only to muck after Rutledge rolled over {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a straight.

Dismer's Dismal Day Brightens Up

Niveau 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

Dondi Dismer got into a preflop raising war that saw him get his last 35,200 in the middle from middle position, and he was at risk against a lone opponent in early position.

Dondi Dismer: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}

"First pair I've seen in an hour," Dismer said with a shrug as he saw his tens were crushed by the aces of his opponent.

He spiked a set on the {2-Hearts}{10-Spades}{k-Hearts} flop, eliciting a round of gasps from the table. He dodged an ace on the {9-Hearts} turn and {j-Diamonds} river, and Dismer breathed a sigh of relief as he brought in the double.

Bouziden's Bluff Gets Through

Niveau 8 : 800/1,600, 1,600 ante

There was 11,000 in the pot and a {j-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{a-Spades} board out when the blinds checked over to Tom Bouziden on the button, who tossed in a bet of 3,000. The small blind called, and the big blind folded.

The small blind checked the {8-Diamonds} river, and Bouziden bet 8,000. The small blind thought for around a minute, and a player that had just been seated at the table called for a clock.

"Who called the clock?" the small blind asked. He was upset as the seconds ticked down, and with one second left, he mucked. Bouziden turned over {5-Hearts}{5-Diamonds} for just a pair of fives, and the small blind was still livid over the clock being called on him.

"Keep it friendly! Let's play poker!" a player at the table told the small blind, and in short order, calm was restored to the table.
