On the first hand of the final day, Mikhail Semin completed on his six and Daniel Negreanu stuck around. The players both checked until sixth street when Negreanu fired in a bet and Semin called.

Daniel Negreanu: {x-}{x-} / {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} {x-}
Mihhail Semin: {x-}{x-} / {6-Clubs}{9-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} / {x-}

Both players looked down at their seventh street cards and checked. Semin tabled {k-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} for a pair of sixes and Negreanu turned over {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}{6-Spades}, giving him the same pair of sixes with a higher kicker, sending the first pot of the day to Negreanu.

Daniel Negreanu Leads Final Day of Seven Card Stud Championship as Kick Off Approaches

Daniel Negreanu

Welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and the 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) for the final day of Event #41: $10,000 Seven Card Stud Championship.

The tournament saw a total of 88 runners walk through the doors and now just seven remain as the tournament gets ready to crown a new champion. Leading the way is six-time bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu who will be looking to join the likes of Jeff Lisandro and Men Nguyen in the top ten on the all-time bracelet list.

David "ODB" Baker is the only person besides Negreanu to have a seven-figure stack with 1,040,000 in chips and is in search of his second piece of jewelry. Coming in right behind the leaders is mixed-game specialist Frank Kassela who already owns three bracelets, none of which come from the same game, and he looks to adds some more diversity here with the addition of a Seven Card Stud bracelet.

An original plan of playing a four-day event was scrapped as the field depleted too quickly and there were not enough chips to last that long. A new schedule was decided on, leaving the final seven to return today and battle to a conclusion on Day 3. All players will be starting the day with a guaranteed $30,817 payday and all will be eyeing the $245,451 up top for the eventual winner.

Five-time bracelet winner John Hennigan will be riding in the middle of the pack and has his hopes on tying Negreanu's total on the WSOP bracelet list with a win here today. David Singer has been relatively quiet for most of the event, letting his poker speak for himself as he chases his third bracelet, but remains in the hunt. Chris Tryba has been playing solid and making everyone smile along the way as he looks to capture his second bracelet. Finally, coming in as the short stack is Mikhail Semin who is the only person at this final table to not own at least one WSOP awarded piece of jewelry. The Russian will be out to correct that today.

The remaining seven players will be starting on level 18 with the limits at 20,000/40,000 and each level will be 90-minutes in length. This event starts at 2 p.m., will be streamed on CBS All Access at 3 p.m. and Will play out on the Amazon Main Stage. The tournament will be playing down until the eventual champion is crowned.

The PokerNews live reporting team will be bringing you all of the action as it unfolds in the final day of this event.
