Adam Lamphere Eliminated in 7th Place ($28,006)

Niveau 38 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante
Adam Lamphere
Adam Lamphere

Pot-Limit Omaha

Adam Lamphere raised the pot, 2,800,000, Rainer Kempe three-bet to 4,850,000 and was, as expected, called, Lamphere having just over two million behind.

Lamphere: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Kempe: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

The deck hit Kempe hard with a {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{6-Diamonds} flop followed by a {q-Clubs} turn, leaving his opponent, chip leader for two straight days, drawing to two outs. The river {8-Diamonds} was not one of them and Lamphere has departed long before anyone might have expected him to.

Moschonas Doubles Through Bansal

Aristeidis Moschonas

Pot-Limit Omaha

Raghav Bansal raised to 1,900,000 under the gun and Dan Matsuzuki called on the button. In the big blind, Aris Moschonas was down to not even four big blinds and three-bet shoved all in for 3,130,000. Bansal gave him protection and potted to 11,700,000, which got Matsuzuki out of the way.

Ari Moschonas: {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{6-Spades}
Raghav Bansal: {q-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{2-Spades}

Moschonas' aces were in the lead and he had Bansal's spade flush draw covered as well. The flop {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} added a gutshot to Bansal's jacks and the {2-Hearts} on the turn opened up the deuces to win as well. Bansal drew a blank on the {3-Diamonds} river, though, and Moschonas doubled up.

Pot-Limit Omaha

Having finagled outlasting start of day chip leader Adam Lamphere, Stephen Ma's grip on the short stack and the event in general has finally come free. He had just 150,000 chips remaining when he called all-in after a Rainer Kempe preflop open.

Ma: {k-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{2-Spades}
Kempe: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The board paired Kempe's six, leaving Ma drawing thin, and it ended up reading {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}.

Bansal Bets Moschonas Off on Turn

Niveau 38 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

Pot-Limit Omaha

Rainer Kempe raised to 1,900,000 from middle position and won the hand. The next hand, Aris Moschonas raised pot to 2,800,000 from the cutoff, Raghav Bansal opted to see a flop on the button, and the blinds folded. A dry flop of {10-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Diamonds} was spread and the Greek continued with 1,000,000. Bansal called in position. The turn brought the {6-Diamonds} and Moschonas now checked. Bansal bet 4,400,000 and Moschonas waved the white flag in defeat.

Pot-Limit Omaha

In the final hand before the break, Ashish Ahuja raised to 2,500,000 on the button. Dan Matsuzuki three-bet pot to 8,300,000 from the small blind, Rainer Kempe folded, and Ahuja went into the tank.

The other players had already walked off the stage, leaving just the pair to play it out. Matsuzuki sat stoically, arms crossed, while Ahuja had a decision to make for all his chips.

After several minutes, Ahuja decided to four-bet shove all in for 9,800,000 and Matsuzuki quickly called off the extra chips.

Ashish Ahuja: {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Dan Matsuzuki: {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}{q-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

Ahuja was quite behind from the start but picked up equity on the {k-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{7-Hearts} flop. The {6-Spades} on the turn provided even more outs to survive, but the river {4-Diamonds} was a blank and Ahuja was gone in fifth place.

No-Limit Hold'em

Raghav Bansal opened to 2,250,000 on the cutoff, called solely by Ali Moschonas in the big blind. The flop of {j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{10-Hearts} saw the light of day for mere seconds, as Moschonas check-folded sharpish to a 1,000,000 bet from Bansal.

The second hand after the restart, Aris Moschonas shoved from the small blind for just 100,000 more than Bansal already had forcibly commited in the big blind. He was autocalled and at risk for his tournament life:

Bansal: {5-Spades}{3-Hearts}
Moschonas: {q-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The Greek rail went nuts as the board came out {6-Spades}{5-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{a-Diamonds} to keep Moschonas alive.

Moschonas From A Nub

Niveau 39 : 500,000/1,000,000, 1,000,000 ante

No-Limit Hold'em

Rainer Kempe raised to 2,000,000 and Aris Moschonas, fresh from a double-up, three-bet shoved for 3,200,000 on the button. Only Kempe called.

Aris Moschonas: {a-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Rainer Kempe: {k-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}

The flop was {9-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and Moschonas remained in the lead. The turn {a-Hearts} made it a lock, rendering the {k-Clubs} river a mere formality. Moschonas now has nearly 9 big blinds again.
