Zeng Has the Nut Straight

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Linglin Zeng was seen battling with Torben Sorensen on a turn reading {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{j-Clubs} with Zeng in possession of a covering stack. All chips went towards the middle on the turn where both players caught a straight. Zeng was in a great spot, holding the {q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} while Torben Sorensen had only {a-Hearts}{8-Spades}.

Sorensen could hope only for a chop but the {j-Diamonds} river wasn't one of his three outs.

Leah Runs into a Set

Niveau 3 : 100/200, 200 ante

Four-way to a {10-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop, Mike Leah bet 1,300 from an early position, Ronald Sewell called from the button and another player called under the gun.

Leah fired 3,100 on the {8-Clubs} and Sewell raised to 8,100, forcing a fold from the third player. Leah called.

Both Leah and Sewell checked the {5-Clubs} river and Sewell tabled {3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} for a flopped set. Leah mucked his hand.

Nitch Gets a Chop

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Michael Nitch had 5,000 in front of him when the action was caught on a flop of {k-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}. Nitch was in the big blind, tangling with Chaayanath Mysore who sits two seats to Nitch's left. Mysore shoved his 28,000 and Sorensen tanked.

Mysore eventually called for a clock but Nitch called before the floorperson arrived.

Mysore: {k-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Nitch: {k-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

Both players flopped the top pair but Mysore had a better kicker. His advantage was, however, discarded when the {3-Spades} turn landed and the {k-Clubs} confirmed a chop.

Shaburo Fires Three Shells

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

Rubens Tarzia checked from the big blind with {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{8-Diamonds} on the table and Aleksei Shaburo (hijack) bet 3,100 into a pot of around 5,500.

Tarzia called and he check-called another 6,300 on the {4-Spades} turn.

The {7-Hearts} completed the board and Tarzia checked again. Shaburo sized his third barrel at 12,000 and Tarzia finally gave up.

"You win, nice hand," Tarzia said before mucking his hole cards.

Fontaine Bests Leah

Jean-René Fontaine

Five players came to a flop of {2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{6-Hearts} where Mike Leah fired 1,200 from the hijack. Jean Fontaine called from the cutoff and a player directly to Leah's right joined them to the turn.

It fell {2-Clubs} and Fontaine bet 3,600 in position. Only Leah called to continue to the river.

The {k-Spades} river saw both players quickly check and Leah tabled {a-Hearts}{10-Clubs}, but he finished second to Fontaine's {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}.

Zeebo's Theorem Doesn't Apply to Tarzia

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 0 ante
Ben Tarzia
Ben Tarzia

"No player is capable of folding a full house on any betting round, regardless of the size of the bet," the Zeebo's Theorem claims.

But it wasn't the case in the hand between Rubens Tarzia and David Danheiser who had made it to the river of the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts} board by the time the action was picked up.

Tarzia, who was under the gun, fired 12,500 into a pot of about 22,000. Danheiser paused and then moved all in for 37,500.

"King-jack, huh?" Tarzia investigated with a sad tone in his voice.

"I flopped it," Tarzia continued.

Then he studied the board for a while and eventually folded.

"You're not raising me with less," Tarzia said and flipped his hole cards, showing that he indeed flopped a full house with {4-Hearts}{4-Clubs}.

Mihai Niste was seen all in for under 9,000 on the flop of {7-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}{a-Diamonds}. His opponent had bet 1,500 and he called off, putting Niste at risk.

Niste showed {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs} and the other player turned up {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}.

The {8-Hearts} turn left the contest undecided, pushing it closer to a tie and the {q-Spades} river confirmed the chop. Both players pulled their bets back and Niste continued with 10,100.

Smith Flops Two Pair

Niveau 2 : 100/200, 0 ante

David Baldanza raised to 400 from the cutoff and Mark Smith made it 2,000 on his left. Baldanza called.

The {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop was checked by both players and Baldanza checked again on the {5-Hearts} turn. Smith fired 2,600 and Baldanza called.

The river was the {j-Clubs} and Baldanza let Smith bet 7,000. Baldanza tanked for over a minute and then threw in calling chips.

"Two pair," Smith declared, turning up {k-Spades}{4-Clubs}. Baldanza mucked and Smith claimed the pot.
