Hands #67-71: Negreanu Doubles, Schulman Extends His Lead

Niveau 26 : 250,000/500,000, 500,000 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Hand #67: Daniel Negreanu shipped all in for 7,400,000 in the small blind and Igor Kurganov made the call from the big blind.

Daniel Negreanu: {k-Spades}{q-Spades}
Igor Kurganov: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}

Kurganov held the slight preflop lead but Negreanu still had plenty of ways to win the hand. The flop fell {k-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{4-Hearts} to give Negreanu the lead with a pair of kings. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn didn't change the situation and the {q-Diamonds} secured Negreanu another double up.

Hand #68: Negreanu made it 1,200,000 on the button and Keith Tilston called from the big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{3-Spades} and both players checked to the {10-Hearts} on the turn. Tilston led out for 1,200,000 and Negreanu sent his cards to the muck.

Hand #69: Kurganov just called on the button which invited Tilston and Nick Schulman to come along from the blinds. The flop came {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} and the action checked to Kurganov who bet 500,000. Both Tilston and Schulman called as the {5-Hearts} landed on the turn.

All three players checked and the {q-Spades} completed the board. Tilston checked once more and Schulman used a time extension before knuckling the table as well. Kurganov chose to see his opponent's hands and Schulman showed {j-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a straight to earn the pot.

Hand #70: Schulman limped in from the small blind and Negreanu checked his option. Both players checked the {4-Hearts}{3-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop and the {q-Diamonds} landed on the turn. Schulman led out for 600,000 and Negreanu folded.

Hand #71: Schulman made it 1,100,000 on the button and Kurganov defended his big blind. The flop came {j-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and both players checked to the {10-Spades} on the turn.

Kurganov checked again and Schulman slid out a bet of 1,800,000. Kurganov called and the {q-Spades} hit the river. Kurganov checked once more and Schulman stuck in a bet of 4,500,000. Kurganov released his cards to the muck and Schulman was awarded the pot.
