Elet Making a Comeback

Niveau 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante
David Elet
David Elet

A player in early position made it 250,000 before a player in late position reraised all in for more than 1 million in chips, folding out the initial raiser. However, David Elet had no choice but to show down as he only had enough for the big blind.

David Elet: {k-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades}

The board ran out {9-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{5-Spades} keeping Elet's tournament hopes alive.

Five people have been eliminated since the earlier incident (scroll down to three posts) where Elet was all but out the door, getting called back by the floor because he had three chips left. A total of 15,000 in chips. Elet has now moved up the prize money ladder and is guaranteed at least $8,941for his efforts and is still going.

Late Stages Favouring Skrovan

Niveau 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

John Skrovan has built a lead-challenging stack with 51 players still remaining. His last hand on the table before it broke involved preflop raiser Novica Muskovic.

Muskovic opened for 320000 (the blinds now a steep 60,000/120,000) and Skrovan placed a stack of 800,000 out as a raise. The raise needing to be at least double the bet, this was strictly 40,000 too little; the floor ruled that a full bet had to be made.

On the {3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts} flop, Muskovic led out for 315,000 and Skrovan raised to 800,000. Muskovic folded, saying he had ace-king; Skrovan said he'd held pocket tens.

Havens Leaves Elet with a Chip and a Chair

Niveau 30 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Paul Havens raised to 250,000 and it folded around to David Elet in the big blind who moved all in. Havens made the call and thought that he had Elet covered.

Paul Havens: {k-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}
David Elet: {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran {5-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{2-Spades}{7-Hearts}{2-Hearts} and as Havens was collecting the pot, the floor had already been called for Elet to collect his payout slip. Elet was walked to the cage before it was realized that he still had 15,000 in chips and was called back to the table by the floor, with a watching player yelling "chip and a chair!"

Four players have since been eliminated giving Elet a decent chip and a chair story, as he moved up the money counts and is still alive.

Magana vs. Zhu

Niveau 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

Andrew Zhu raised preflop and was called by big blind Juan Magana. On an {a-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades} flop, Magana led out for 375,000 and was called by Zhu.

The turn brought the {6-Hearts}; Magana led again, for 465,000 (with 2.5 million behind). Zhu now tanked for a good couple of minutes. He covered his opponent, but not by a lot, and he threaded a stack of 5,000 chips - now the smallest denomination in play - while he considered the bet. After a while, he switched to threading the 100,000 chips, then folded.

Moore Doubles

Niveau 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante
Megan Moore
Megan Moore

Megan Moore survived an all-in preflop confrontation with {a-Hearts}{8-Spades} against {k-Clubs}{j-} to double her dwindling stack back up to 1,500,000, hitting her ace straight away on a board that ended up showing {a-Spades}{5-Spades}{4-Hearts}{7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. She put her new stack to work shortly thereafter, calling a raise from mid-position on the button, seeing a {k-Spades}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades} flop and moving all-in when her opponent led out ofor 170,000. He thought for a while before folding.

"I had you dominated," she said.

"What did you have?" he asked.

"What did you have," she countered, before telling him her holding: ace-king. He declined to reciprocate.
