Day 2 of Final Fifty Sees Seth Davies Lead 44 Players; Registration Open Until Start of Play

Welcome back to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino and the 2019 World Series of Poker (WSOP) for Day 2 of Event #90: $50,000 Final Fifty No-Limit Hold'em.

Yesterday a total of 109 entrants took to the felt throughout Day 1, and with only 70 of those being unique entrants, players freely took advantage of the unlimited re-entry option. Earlier this WSOP in the first $50,000 buy-in high roller event, Ben Heath topped a 110-entrant field to capture his first WSOP bracelet and the $1,484,085 first-place prize, and it is a near-lock that the Final Fifty will top that field size as registration is open through to the start of play on Day 2.

Players entering late will begin with 300,000 in starting chips, and blinds will be 10,000-20,000, with a big blind ante of 20,000. Registration will be closed at the start of play; approximately 4 p.m. (PDT).

With the 109-entrant field reduced to just the final 44 players, it would be Seth Davies in the lead after being the only playing to surpass the two-million chip-mark as he ended the day with 2,250,000 in chips. Davies mixed aggression and some luck to see his stack rise to the top, and with two WSOP cashes this year to go along with 23 lifetime WSOP cashes and over $200,000 in WSOP earnings, Davies will be hoping his hot start in the Final Fifty can propel him to his second WSOP final table and first WSOP bracelet.

Right on the heels of Davies is Dan Smith (1,680,000), Elior Sion (1,520,000), Adrian Mateos (1,450,000), Fedor Holz (1,320,000), and Ali Imsirovic (1,290,000). Also surviving into Day 2 are WSOP bracelet winners Ivan Luca, Brian Rast, Brandon Adams, David Peters, Ben Yu, Daniel Negreanu, Julien Martini, Martin Kabrhel, Sam Soverel, Johannes Becker, and Heath.

Day 2 play is set to begin at 4 p.m. (PDT) on Tuesday, July 9, and once cards are in the air, registration for the Final Fifty will be closed.

The PokerNews Live Reporting Team will be on hand to provide continuous live updates of all the Final Fifty action once play begins at 4 p.m. (PDT). The plan for the day is to play down to the final table of six players, so stay tuned right here to PokerNews.com for all the continued live coverage from the Final Fifty, and every event of the 2019 World Series of Poker.
