Alaei Takes it Down Without Showdown

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei

The completed board was out, with {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} on display. Daniel Alaei was in the hand and was in position. He bet 10,000 into the pot on the double paired board and it was enough to secure a fold from his opponent. It is a step in the right direction but Alaei is still down from where he started the day.

The Ice-Cream Man Randall Emmett

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Randall Emmett
Randall Emmett

Randall Emmett isn't one to run away from the spotlight. Whether it be in Hollywood or on the poker tables.

The Hollywood producer is known for movies such as End of Watch and Lone Survivor, and he's currently hyping up what may be the next box office smash with The Irishman starring the likes of Robert De Niro, Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, and Harvey Keitel.

On the poker felt, Emmett is out there having fun and enjoying the game. Earlier at the WSOP, Emmett finished in tenth-place in the Event #11: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em for $ 21,812 to see his lifetime tournament earnings creep towards $300,000.

Today Emmett can be found under the bright lights of the secondary feature table in the Amazon Room, and is continually trying to entertain his table.

"I'm professional!" bellowed Emmett as he limped the cutoff for 400.

The player on the button sat there emotionless and composed.

"I am a robot," joked Emmett in a robotic voice as he moved his arms back-and-forth in still gestures.

"GTO bot," Emmett added as the cutoff and the blinds saw a {8-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop.

Emmett saw his cards hit the muck after a bet and raise, and when the button folded, Emmett added, "I am ruining the robot!"

In 2018, Emmett made a grand entrance into the Main Event that included a marching band and flamingo dancers. Emmett's flamingo dancers then handed out ice-cream to the players in the field.

For 2019, Emmett decided against the marching band and the grand entrance, but the flamingo dancers and ice-cream returned. Just recently, a bevy of flamingo dancers handed out ice-cream all across the Amazon Room as Vice President of the WSOP Jack Effel announced to the players that the ice-cream was courtesy of Emmett.

Cha Makes Two Pair

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

A player in early position raised to 1,000 and received calls from Kyung Cha in the small blind as well as the player in the big blind. The flop came {6-Spades}{5-Spades}{a-Hearts} and all three players checked.

Cha led out for 1,600 on the turn {9-Spades} and the big blind called. The original raiser folded, taking action heads up to the river {q-Clubs}. Cha fired again, this time for 3,000 and was again called.

Upon being called, Cha tabled {6-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} for a flopped two pair and took down the pot with his sixes up as his opponent mucked.

Carroll Folds to Kurtzman

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Jim Carroll and Eben Kurtzman were on the river with {2-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{4-Spades}{6-Spades}{9-Spades} and Kurtzman had moved all in for 28,300 first to act. It was more than a pot-sized bet and Carroll looked bemused as he mulled over the situation, laughing that "this didn't work out the way I wanted it to."

He asked Kurtzman if he would show if he folded before turning over ace-king. Kurtzman looked like he was going to muck but with encouragement from Carroll and all the players at the table, Kurtzman tabled {k-Spades}{10-Hearts}, much to everyone's amusement.

Bet, Raise, Fold for Daoud on the Flop

Niveau 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

Action folded to Steven Daoud on the button, and he raised to 1,100. Abhinav Iyer in the small blind called, and the flop landed {k-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}.

Iyer checked and Daoud continued for 1,100. Iyer check-raised to 3,900, and Daoud paused momentarily, and then tossed in a green 25,000-denomination chip while announcing a bet of 11,500.

In response, Iyer announced he was all in for 43,500 total, and after a few minutes of deliberation, Daoud mucked.
