Nguyen Crushing Early

Qui Nguyen

Qui Nguyen has had a banner start to the day. According to the players at his table, the former champ won a huge pot, busting Carlton Taylor when he flopped a wheel with {a-}{2-} against pocket aces.

In a hand we saw, he gave a tiny amount back against Jose Severino, check-calling a small flop bet on {8-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{q-Spades}. Both players checked the {3-Spades}, bringing a {10-Clubs}. Nguyen check-called about 2,300 and lost to {a-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}.

Sun Shows Ace High Against Raymer

Niveau 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

The board was down {7-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}, and China's Ning Sun bet 7,000 from the big blind.

2004 WSOP Main Event champion Greg Raymer called from the button before the {8-Clubs} hit the river. Sun threw a 25,000 chip into the middle as he announced a 15,000 bet and Raymer kept his eyes - hidden behind his trademark sunglasses - locked on Sun.

A smile broke out onto Sun's face, and he removed his sunglasses from his pocket before placing them on.

"Good catch," said Raymer ten seconds later as he folded. Sun, however, revealed the {a-Clubs}{5-Hearts} for just ace-high.

Mosbock Doubles After Getting Short

Niveau 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Dejan Pustoslemsek raised to 2,000 from middle position, and Mario Mosbock three-bet shoved for 11,700 in the small blind. Pustoslemsek called.

Mario Mosbock: {2-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}
Dejan Pustoslemsek: {a-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}

Mosbock found a set on the {2-Spades}{a-Spades}{j-Diamonds} flop, but the {5-Spades} turn gave Pustoslemsek a gutshot. Mosbock would improve to quads instead on the {2-Clubs} river to secure the double.

Buckley Loses a Small One

Niveau 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

In a battle button versus small blind, Adrian Buckley and Daijiro Tomoto headed to the {k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop, on which Tomoto check-called a bet of 1,300. Tomoto then bet the {5-Diamonds} turn for 2,500 to pick up a call before checking the {5-Clubs} river.

Buckley checked behind and was shown the {k-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a full house by Tomoto.

"I am so happy I checked, I was trying really hard not to say all in," Buckley grinned.

Roussey Wins the Flip to Eliminate Maimone

Niveau 6 : 400/800, 800 ante

Michael Wolff started the action off by raising in early position, Quentin Roussey called on the button and Nick Maimone shoved all-in from the small blind for roughly 9,000. The big blind folded fast, Wolff mucked behind him and Roussey splashed in chips to call.

Quentin Roussey: {3-Clubs}{3-Spades}
Nick Maimone: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Maimone was going to need to catch up to stay alive in the tournament but the board was no help when it ran out {10-Hearts}{7-Spades}{2-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Spades}. Roussey's pocket threes were still good and Maimone was eliminated from the tournament.
