Orhan Ates ouvre le palmarès de la Turquie, Alex Reard 4e

Victime d'une mauvaise river, Alexandre Reard s'incline finalement en 4e position de l'Event WSOP #60 disputé la nuit dernière sur GGPoker. Le Français du Team Pro Unibet encaisse 56.000$ et signe sa meilleure place sur un tournoi des World Series Of Poker...
Son bourreau, Tobias "juanson" Schwecht, s'est finalement incliné en head's up de ce bounty à 525$ qui avait rassemblé 3 170 entrants, au plus grand bonheur du poker turque qui monte pour la première fois au sommet du mont poker. Orhan "yirtil" Ates a mis près de 12 heures à conquérir son premier bracelet et le premier de son pays pour un total de 180 177$ (dont 65 593$ en primes, ndlr).

Ates avait terminé à la 26e place de l'Event #44: $2,500 NLHE 6-Handed pour 11,697$, de quoi être aux première loges pour la troisième victoire WSOP de Kristen Bicknell. En live, il avait croisé Alex reard sur le Main Event WSOP International Circuit 2019 Rotterdam, le turque avait terminé 14e alors que le tricolore s'était hissé en finale (8e) après avoir remporté une bague sur le High Roller...
9 nationalités différentes étaient représentées en finale, une finale où l'on retrouvait le Lituanien Tomas "CoronaMyAss" Jozonis, et le Libanais Jeff "PlayingNaked" Hakim.

Le prizepool de 1,6 million de dollars a été partagé entre les 368 derniers survivants du tournoi, les joueurs atteignant les places payées s'assurant d'un min-cash de 680$. Fidèle au poste, Daniel Negreanu a encore réalisé un deep-run en mousse.
Six joueurs ont sauté sur la même main alors que le hand for hand avait débuté à 5 places de l'argent. En s'étant inscrit avant l'entame du tournoi, Chih Wei Fan, "Anti Pro", Galen Hall et Zachary "Nakinofthefi" Korik ont donc bénéficié de la "bubble Protection" (ils ont été remboursés de leur buy-in t ont conservé leurs primes, ndlr).
Simon Lofberg, Joao Vieira, Conor Beresford et Dylan "mezcal" Linde ont aussi assuré l'essentiel tout comme Ryan Riess (33e). Florian "LaDodote" Ribouchon a lui sauté en 25e position pour 3042$.
Dean "RandyLahey" Pitcher et Jingxiang "Fuzzy Wuzzy!" Ong se sont eux inclinés en demi-finales tout comme Gleb "IamMVP" Tremzin et Shawn Buchanan.
Ates a provoqué l'ultime réunification avec une rivière chanceuse pour éliminer Renato "Songonku" Ribeiro. Hakim a ensuite sauté avec les 
contre les 
chez le futur vainqueur, Ates en profitant pour s'échapper en tête.
Il faudra 40 minutes de plus pour que Hagen ne saute contre Sanches, période durant laquelle Schwecht va prendre le maillot jaune. Ates va ensuite se charger du brésilien Sanches grâce à une quinte frappée river explosant le brelan adverse (5e).
Dans cette finale des rivières, Reard va lui aussi être victime avec une quinte runner-runner pour le

Schwecht va enchaîner avec le scalp de Jozonis pour se hisser en head's up avec trois quarts des jetons. L'Autrichien va user de sa force pour faire tomber son adversaire à 16 blindes et partir à tapis avec une couleur au tournant. Ates va voir la rivière doubler pour transformer son brelan en Full House et s'offrir une deuxième vie !
Ates va ensuite doubler sur un flip pour s'emparer des commandes du tournoi... le duo va ensuite batailler durant une trentaine de minutes avant que Schwecht ne se retrouve à tapis avec 
pour ses 15 dernières blindes. Avec Top paire, Ates était proche de faire doubler son adversaire mais la rivière va lui amener une Dame miracle pour faire trips (il ne jouait plus que 2 outs puisque le tournant 
avait donné deux paires aux deux joueurs, ndlr) et devenir le premier vainqueur aux WSOP pour la Turquie!
